We did Azamara cruise earlier this spring and it was wonderful - language isn't too much of a barrier, which is good since we speak very little Spanish.
If you have the desire to go, I'd recommend you go sooner than later as our guides told us it's amazing how quickly things are changing now that Americans are visiting the island (some changes better than others).

Do they still have the table casino games on Quest? I have read that they have already been taken out of Journey, but haven't seen any mention about Quest yet. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will still be there at the end of March.

You didn’t ask, but if you want to get “jazzed” about Cuba, we have several posts with pics of our land trip there:
Thanks for posting this. Very interesting and informative!

We have decided not to cancel this cruise. Its not ideal for us as we are already visiting Cuba in January but we did not want to lose our holiday. We won't book so early next time and then hopefully the itinerary won't change. Prices have now shot up!
We too have figured out a way to keep this cruise. Although not ideal timing wise with the added days, this looks like a great itinery and we'll take advantage of that opportunity.

Count me as another disappointed customer here. I was looking forward to trying Azamara and selected their initial offering specifically because of the itinery and the dates. Looks like I will be canceling as well and look at another option as wife has prior work commitment during the first couple of days the new offering is scheduled.
Celebrity versus Azamara

I agree with all the other comments above.
One situation not mentioned that we feel is a plus for Azamara is if you find other cruisers whose company you enjoy, you can easily dine with them if you'd like. On Celebrity, if you were in a suite and your new friends were not, you would need to find a suitable dining time at a specialty restaurant or pay to have them join you. While it can be done on Celebrity, it's not nearly as simple as on Azamara.
