  1. Since it was asked if the piers were within walking distance:

Maps showing the layout of downtown/Seattle Center to Pier 91 and Pier 66:

AND a great video shared with me today by another cruiser that tells you all about Pier 91:

Thank you for posting these links. They were very helpful! The last one especially since our flight back to Atlanta this June is not until later in the evening. Cruising to Alaska on the Jewel in June.

  2. Unfortunately my husband and I were one of the cancellations. Haven't been this disappointed this much since our last cruise. When we left they were still evaluating how many rooms were affected but we heard about 500 people were affected.

They will compensate us for the cruise in full and also give us another cruise up to what we paid. We drove but if you flew you also got a night's accommodation.

    So sorry.

  3. You'll enjoy it.

Dahlonega huh? Our daughter got married at Wolf Mountain a couple of years ago. Know the area well.

    Enjoy your glacier sights!

Yep. Dahlonega. We have lived here since 2002....I am actually a New Yorker. :) My friends family owns/runs the Vineyard. Beautiful place.

Thanks for the pictures of the glacier! So looking forward to seeing the sites of Alaska!

  4. We had my time dining and waited to eat until after we passed under the bridge. We spoke with other people who had traditional dining and just watched through the windows in the dining room.

We personally think it is something not to be missed and would let the dining staff know that you will miss the first night in the dining room so they won't be waiting on you and then eat in the Windjammer after you pass under the bridge.

No flaming! Its your cruise, make it what you want it to be! :)

    Happy Cruising! Cindy

Cindy, thank you! We are cruising with our 7 year old and I would much rather prefer all of us to experience going under the bridge from the deck. I will make sure to mention that we will miss dinner in the MDR that night.

  5. Posting this in your review instead of starting a thread (don't want to be flamed.. =)) We are doing regular dinner seating and not Dining by Request. On the first night of the cruise the ship goes under the bridge around 6:30. Do you know if people in the 6 seating just miss the dinner in the MDR that night, or do people just leave during that time to go and watch the ship pass under the bridge?
