Thank you for the review. I'll be traveling solo on Harmony on December 9th. I was interested in reading all of your post regarding the specialty restaurants. I'm debating if I should purchase the package or not. Did you purchase before you boarded or once you boarded? Any other advice would be very welcome.

This isn't my first cruise, but my first solo cruise. Although I've joined the Roll Call so I don't feel as solo as when I first made the decision to book. :D

    Thanks,

    Laurie

  2. First choice definitely the Renaissance on 17th street causeway, extremely close to the cruise terminal, great area and safe, walking distance to restaurants, nice rooms. Second, Hilton Marina, although more outdated a great hotel to be at also and right near the port also.

I'll be staying at the Renaissance. What is best way to get to the Ship from the Hotel?

    Thank you,

    Laurie

  3. How about a catamaran cruise & snorkel?

Several operators recommended on Port of Call message boards. Singles welcome.

    Or an island tour?

Lots of private tour guides available. Check your Roll Call for others with similar interests

An artist gallery tour? Local tour guides available. Again, look for companions on Roll Call

Maybe time spent in Marigot + lunch?

Share a taxi or go alone. You can easily spend 3 hrs. here.

    Thank you so much.

  4. I hope you will post a live review while onboard as I will be at sea on Adventure on your embarkation day :) (Adventure departs the day before from Port Everglades.) Our ships will both be in port in St Maarten on December 12th, that would be too funny if we ran into each other [emoji23]

I’m also booked in a studio OV on Harmony next year, looking forward immensely to losing my Oasis-class virginity [emoji106]

  5. Just curious, they are offering a special right now on Royal Carribean for $120 for both Manicure and Pedicure Fire and Ice. Curious, if the sales on the first day are better or if I should not risk it and go ahead and book? I would do it before, but I have a conference before in Orlando and then flying to Ft Lauderdale to board the ship.

    Thanks

I got a pedicure on the Allure in June. I'm sorry but I don't remember the difference. I think it wasn't the Fire and Ice one. But, I enjoyed it. They had a discount on the 2nd day, which is when I went.

Yes, it's overpriced, but I didn't want to go beforehand and it's my money. By comparison, the price at the Marriott Harbor Beach was double the price on the ship and I'm sure many ladies pay for that experience.

The polish lasted until I was ready to remove it. No chips or discoloration despite swimming and wearing closed toe shoes at times.

Treat yourself and enjoy. Ignore the sales pitches for stuff you don't want.

  6. Thank you hucifier for such an entertaining and fun review. I only discovered it a few days ago, and actually printed it to read while on a flight for work. People would look when I'd giggle out loud. LOVE! I travel along many times a year for work. Sometimes meet up with distributors and the like, but there are many a time I eat alone. I'm taking my first solo cruise Dec 9th on Harmony of the Seas and am looking forward to actually have an endless list of choices to do whatever or do nothing. I'm hoping to "unplug" from work for awhile, which these days never seems to be possible. Thank you again, for bringing your trip to life.

  8. Hello Everyone,

I will be traveling to cozumel in two weeks time and am interested in going to Playa Uvas. I am a little concerned with their lunch due to some dietary restrictions. On the website to reserve it says that you have a choice of quesidallas. Is that all that I get to pick from?

Do they give you a bigger menu selection.

    Please help!

    Regards,

    Laurie
