It is too early to say which berth but most probably Mayflower. When you arrive you are directed to the CPS line where they will photo your car then take your keys to take the car to the onsite car park. As you will need help they will get a porter to take your bags to the despatch area for the ship. You then make your way the short distance to the terminal. You don't mention your disability but there are wheelchair helpers at the terminal for the ship.
Thanks for the information. I use a powerchair and my wife usually needs help from the terminal onto the ship.

Thanks everyone for your advice. Can I just ask how it works with the parking? when I drop the car at the car park, do they take our luggage to the ship the same as AB parking does? Also is it far from the car park to the cruise terminal? Thanks.
-
Thanks everyone for your help. I think it will be CPS. They seem to be the best, even though they are quite a lot more expensive than AB.
-
Thanks David. CPS was recommended to me, but I'm unsure because I have a motabilty car, and it is only insured for me to drive. I'm not sure whether I would have to pay for repairs if it was damaged while someone else was driving it.
-
Thanks for the help. I've just checked the link and you're right, it only shows up to March.
Its really the parking I'm concerned about because I usually like to book it early. AB Parking was great because I could book it as soon as I'd booked our cruise.

Hi. I hope someone can give me some advice. I have booked Sky Princess next October from Southampton. I want to book disabled parking near to the ship, but can't find out which berth the Sky Princess sails from.
We have never been on Princess cruises before, we always go with Royal Caribbean. It was very easy because we booked with |ABParking, and the car park was right next to the ship. I would appreciate any help with the berth nimber and the nearest car park please?
Thanks

Hi all. I hop someone can give me some advice. My wife and I are looking at a 14 night cruise to the Mediterranean next July on the Anthem of the Seas. I can walk short distances, but normally use a Powerchair. Can anyone tell me if the Train from Civitavecchia can take a folding powerchair, and also, what is it like getting around Rome. Any help and suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanks

I'm sorry, we've got a 6 yo so skipped much of the evening entertainment. I don't recall hearing anything Beatles-like when walking around though. There was a brilliant reggae band, latin-fusion band and wonderful live music for the shows (We Will Rock You was excellent).
Yes, we remember the We Will Rock You show. It was amazing. I actually spoke to one of the musician on the show to ask if the music was recorded. He told me the whole show is live, there was no pre-recorded music at all. We are lokking forward to seeing it again.

you'll have a wonderful time. the ship was in fabulous shape when we were on her a few weeks ago - brilliant service, fab food, well maintained etc. We only got off for 15 minutes at each port of call (!), but really enjoyed the scenic cruising.
Thanks for your help. I'm sure we will have a great time. Just another question? We were on the Anthem last year and there was a Beatles tribute band performing. Would you know if they are still playing on the ship? We would love to see them again.

We did this cruise 2 weeks ago - it was fabulous! I recall seeing a shuttle for guests with disabilities at the pier. Have a tremendous time!
Thanks for the information. Thats great to hear. I can stop worrying about that now. (and start worrying about something else.

I'm guessing you're referring to Bergen?
Bergen has several cruise piers in different parts of the city. According to the harbor site, Anthem of the Seas is scheduled to berth at Jekteviksterminalen, southeast of the central waterfront area. No reason to take the ferry, because you'll already be on that side of the harbor. From that pier, the Magic Ice Bar is around 20 minutes walk. I don't know if RCCL will offer a shuttle to the city center, but if they did, it would probably drop you somewhere like Festplassen, which is still 15+ minutes walk to the ice bar.
Thanks kaisatsu, thats a great help. I did read somewhere that Royal Caribbean supplies a shuttle, but I've searched and can't find where it goes to.

Hi. I'm Hoping someone can help.
My wife and I are on the Anthem of the Seas to the Fjords on 7th July. We want to go to Magic Ice, but I have to use a powerchair, and we are not sure how to get from the ship to Magic Ice. Is it far to walk? Is there a shuttle from the ship?
I know there is a "Little Red Ferry" that goes from one side of the harbour to the other, but looking at photos of it I don't think it will take wheelchairs.
My powerchair is foldable, and I can walk short distances.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi James,
I'm on this sailing too.
Have you tried contacting Magic Ice directly? If anyone knows, they would. I'm sure they get similar questions all the time.
You can find the contact details here: https://www.magicice.no/listings/bergen-norway/
Thanks for the information. I will try and contact them direct. Thanks for the link.

Hi, I would consider posting your question on the Norway forum as well as on here. Here's a link https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/116-northern-europe-amp-baltic-sea/ .
Thanks for the help. I had a feeling I had posted in the wrong place.

We never really use our credit cards anymore. We are quite happy to pay as we go with Debit cards.

Thanks everyone for your help. I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner but I'm still getting the hang of replying to posts.
Anyway to explain why I asked about withdrawing cash. We will be taking cash with us because 4 years ago on a Royal Caribbean cruise I registered my Debit Card and paid my onboard account with it. Unfortunately, it was a Natwest Debit card and they put a hold on all my account until the cruise line took their payments, about 4 weeks later. It put us in such a financial mess I said we would never do that again.
The last cruise we did in 2019 was with Carnival from Miami around the Caribbean. We paid cash into our onboard account at the check-in, and topped it up throughout the cruise by withdrawing money from the ATM on the ship with our Debit cards. This worked well for us as we don't use Credit cards very often.
On the IONA I wasn't sure how it worked now with the pandemic. I thought we could do the same. I didn't really want to carry a large quantity of cash with us to pay our onboard bill, I was hoping do the same as Carnival and just withdraw from the ATM what I need to top up our account and then pay cash at the end of the cruise.
From what I am reading, it looks like this will not be possible, so I will have to make sure that I take enough cash with us.
John, I do like the idea of the enterprising cruisers with the Boot sale on the Promenade deck. I have a few things I could sell. Unfortunately we are on Deck 5.

Hi John. Thanks for your quick reply. I had a feeling that there were no cash machines onboard. So does that mean that I can use my Debit Card at the Customer Services to withdraw cash? (I don't really use My Credit Card for cash withdrawals)
Thanks
-
Hi everyone. My wife and I are going on the Iona on 11th September, and I was wondering with everything onboard being cashless now, are there still Cash machines, and if so, what are the charges for withdrawing cash?
Thanks

I always take my electric curling brush. I stow mine away after use though.
Thanks for the information. DW is a lot happier now. (and I'm happy she isn't taking her hair curlers as well) but I will check her suitcase just before we go.(just in case 😁)

Hi Babynan! She may bring her hair devices 🙂 Some people say they may not always have luck with their dryer working that they brought on board, so she may have to use the room one if that is the case. However, curling iron/straightener is absolutely fine. (And FYI: "flat iron" is another name for straightener... not the thing you iron clothes with... that's just an iron and those are forbidden. 😉 )
Hi Thanks for your reply. Sorry I hav'nt replied sooner.. Had a major computer problem.
DW is happy about the straightener and curling iron. I never knew that a "flat iron" in America was their name for a hair straightener. You learn something new all the time. 😀

Hi all.
DW wants to know if she can take an electric hair straightener or curling brush on the ship. Or maybe the one with the liquid gas, I think its a Babylass or something like that. (I don't use them myself 😊The Carnival site seems to say its okay, but it also says you can take a flat iron, which I thought was a definate no no. So I'm non the wiser.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I revist this topic every time I cruise and always come up with the answer of Cheers is not worth it. For our upcoming cruise, it is an 8 day cruise, meaning we will have to spend $960 between the two of us for Cheers. In all our cruises we have never spent more than a few hundred. My wife will only drink 1-2 drinks a day max, and I am a beer drinker. To put in perpspective, since I drink beer, I would have to drink 10/day to make up the cost. I have never had more than 5 in a day on a cruise. I would also have to make up my wife's share of the drinks lol. We are also big water drinkers, and I am a regular, black coffee type of guy.
Once I do the math, I always decide I would rather pay per drink and drink how much I'm comfortable with rather than worry about making sure I drink enough to cover the cost. That being said, if someone is a big drinker and will drink that much, then it would be worth it.
Hi. Thanks for the reply. Like you, I don't think I could manage 10 beers a day. (I would'nt remeber much of the druise if I did. 😄 ) I also like water and coffee.
I don't think my wife would drink more than 2 or 3 cocktails a day either. I'm sure we will be having the odd drink when we get off the ship at the different ports as well. We also have some onboard dollars as well, so we will stick to just buying as we want a dink.
Thanks again
James

Thanks CCFC. I tried looking at the holiday inn earlier this year when we booked for October this year, but found the website quite tricky to use, so we ended up at the Premier Inn Airport. We then just drove to the car park. It was quite straightforward.
