12006 has a huge white thing obstructing the far left window. It bothered me quite a bit the first day but then I got over it. I would stay in 12008 next time if it was available , it has no obstructions.

I just left the ship today, can confirm they had a White Hot party.

I was on the same cruise. Very fun, but port times were too short.
We tendered at 3 of 5 ports (Kotor, Santorini, and Mykonos) which was painful.
Forgive my ignorance, but why is tendering painful? Just because it is time consuming or because the actual ride in the small boat is rough?

I went with the family suite:)
Thank you all for your advice.

Family suite for sure! Try to avoid 12530 and 12030, those two cabins are a different shape and only accommodate 4 people instead of six -they don't have the Pullman bed (which would be preferable for the second two adults). The pull out couch is much less desirable.

Thank you so much! I never noticed the symbols next to the rooms and almost went with 12530. I chose one that accommodates 6 instead because of your post.

Title says it all. Here are my pros and cons...if anyone has an opinion, I'd love to hear it.
Mini suite Pros: We love having a balcony, have never cruised without one. Available mid ship. The family suite is forward and I'm nervous because I am prone to seasickness and have told midship is better. This mini suite is mid ship and a nice quiet location.
Family suite Pros: Almost twice as big. We are a family of 4 adults so this matters. First on and off privileges at ports (might be nice, I think we tender in many ports). Wall to wall window but no balcony :( We do get a butler which sounds fun and novel but note sure I want to spend more to tip the butler (although of course i would tip appropriately if we stayed in this suite).
Price is almost the same. We don't drink alcohol so free drinks and such don't matter in our decision. This is a 7 day Greek isle cruise on the Star.
Thank you.

Thank you all for your help! I think we've decided which ports to do on our own.
And Anthonyy7, thank you for the link to Tom's port guides. That was a huge help.

We will be on the Star in May. Our ports will be Kotor, Corfu, Santorini, Mykonos and Dubrovnik. We were hoping to pick 2-3 ports to just do on our own. Are any of these ports easily accessible to the beach and/or the city? We are novice travelers and I'm a little nervous about getting lost and then missing our ship.
Also, if we hire private tours, how do we know what time to have them meet us? If the ship arrives at 8am, how long will it take us to get on land?
White Party on Star??

We are also in our 40s. Not dead yet lol :'):')
We went and had a blast, didn't really notice the ages of others but it seemed to be a wide range.
