Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – The stateroom was very quiet. From the balcony you get a nice wave breaking sound when the ship is travelling due to the room's location near the front of the ship.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Great View with no Obstructions

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized Balcony. Very deep due to it's location. Big enough that it had 2 lounge chairs, 2 regular chairs, a large table and a small table

Was wind a problem? - Wind was not a problem

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Remote for TV is wonky and broken lounge chair.

Any other comments? -Good size bathroom with a great shower. Could use more storage - we maxed it out with just my wife & I. The deck was superb and because of the location there was very little hall traffic. Also has a forward facing bed. Would take this cabin again.

Make sure you see the Cirque show. The performers are amazing.

Also Howl at the Moon if you like Duelin Pianos.

If you want to do the Trivia make sure you get there early ( if they hold it in the Atrium ). It is very crowded and noisy so you'll want good seats.

I would not take the Breakaway. Just got off a 7-day cruise to Bahamas and the staff was inept. Food orders were wrong and slow. The poor design of the Breakaway makes cigarette smoke waft everywhere. Also, The Atrium is used for a lot of activities. the staff just seemed poorly trained and oblivious to everything. You will be treated like cattle on this ship ( unless they get their act together). Basically, just a very unpleasant experience.

The last time we were on the Gem it was much more pleasant and less crowded.

The food and activities on the Gem are more diverse and the quality is much better.
