Paddle tennis was a bust on my Ruby Princess AK cruise (7/1). The Patter listed it as an event on a sea day. I went there and the cruise staff guy said it was too windy (it was windy) so he canceled it. Some people were playing without the net set up anyway. Then the next couple times no one from the staff showed to kick the basketball players off the court (and it was still cold and windy--I'm not sure how you'd really play much while the ship is moving). I tried to set up other informal times to play, but either no one showed up or we were outnumbered by basketball players 8 to 1.

Also, it uses a regular tennis ball and doesn't have a non-volley zone, so I'm not sure how much like pickleball it would be.

This is the first cruise that we bought water from Princess instead of bringing in with us. Now we will always purchase it from Princess

Good idea. I went to pre-order and it required a credit card. Maybe I'm a bit dense, but why can't I pay with OBC? I won't receive anything until I'm on board.

Anyone see it played on Ruby? Have you seen it indoors or outdoors? It's a tough game in the wind.

Looks like junglejane is on the same Ruby Princess itinerary I'm on but a week later.

We got an upsell offer last week for the 7/1 Rube Princess AK cruise from obstructed view (OZ) to a balcony (no balcony category given) for $299 per person. I took the weekend to sleep on it (I probably would've agreed more quickly at $200pp). When I called the travel agent back Monday, she had to leave a message with Princess. She called back Tuesday to say that the two upsell balconies were gone, but now I'm on some sort of wait list.

It would have been a nice change, but for $600 I'm not that disappointed the opportunity passed.
