  1. I believe it is -1- certificate per stateroom booking - there is an exception for cruises in the Mediterranean

special promo where you can use -2- cruise certificates check with NCL for exact details !

In your case with two staterooms use 1 certificate on each.

    Hi don't-use-real-name,

Thanks for the information, but I don't think I expressed my question properly.

I was asking about purchasing rather than redeeming those certificates. If I want to buy one certificate, and I have OBC in two staterooms, can I put the OBC of both staterooms towards those certificates? Either by transferring my OBC from one stateroom to another, or splitting the cost of the certificate across two stateroom accounts?

    Thanks.

  2. For the "Cruise Next" deposits the above is out of date. You can buy 2 deposits for $250, with a value of $500. for 2 deposits. There are some promotions that let you use 2 deposits for a cruise, but basic redemption is one per cabin with a 4 year expiration.

If we have two staterooms can we pool the non-refundable credit or split the purchase of a future cruise credit certificate across both rooms?

  3. From what I saw on the future cruise credit, you give them $250 that you can use on a future cruise and they give you $100 on board credit to use on your current sailing. You have to use your $250 credit on a future cruise within four years.

BTW, we had non-refundable credit that they wouldn't use for our gratuities. I went to the casino and using a slot machine, charged the same amount of the credit to my room. It charged me a 1.5% fee. I did one spin on the slot machine, cashed out, and took my voucher to the cashier who then gave me cash. It used up my non-refundable credit and I walked away with cash - which I guess you could take to guest services to pay down your service charges.

That sounds like a cool trick. I'm not too familiar with how casinos work, does this require you to gamble all your on board credit, or is the "spin" a fixed amount? If so, do you know what the minimum bet is?

  4. Thank you, that was very helpful!

Also, is there a way of finding out the T and C's of this future cruise credit certificate and how much it would cost on our cruise?

    Thanks

  5. No, if Barcelona is a port day for you, your all-aboard time will be 30 minutes before sailing like any other port day. At least that is how it has been in the past, obviously you should go by what they say specifically on your cruise.

For tender ports, there don't normally give you an "all-aboard time", but a "last tender" time. You need to be at the tender dock by that time. Last time we stopped in Cannes on the Epic, the last tender was at 4:30pm for a 5pm departure. So it's really not that different from a docked port.

    Awesome, thank you!

  6. Hi everyone,

I posted earlier about the latest time to board for ports of call and was told roughly 30 mins before departure for docked ports and 60 mins for tender ports (obviously we shouldn't be cutting it too fine).

I called Norwegian and they said, no it's 2 hours before departure for every port (not just for embarkation), which is obviously rubbish if you look at many of the shore excursions they offer.

But the one question I had is does anyone know if there is a 2 hour boarding cut off for Barcelona (given it is an embarkation port), even if this falls in the middle of your cruise?

    Thanks.

    2) https://www.ncl.com/specialty-dining-package/faq

    3) Probably close to equal. Flip a coin. Cagney's holds 170, Le Bistro holds 126. I'd book Le Bistro and bet on Cagney's having an opening. But who really knows? Or book both, and cancel one once on board.

I went to the NCL link posted and read something that I'd like some clarification on: "Additional entrée charges also apply for dining at Cagney's Steakhouse and Le Bistro."

And are you even allowed to make two bookings then cancel one?

    Thanks.

  8. Cruising the Epic Western Mediterranean in July, just had a few questions:

    1. Is the Cirque show with dinner covered by the specialty dining package?

    2. How do a la carte restaurants work under the specialty dining package?

    3. We have a 3 night specialty dining package, the only restaurants we are really interested in are Cagney's and Le Bistro. Not sure which one to book twice, so we were thinking to try both in the beginning and decide where to go for our final night. Can anyone tell me which one tends to have more vacancies, so I can book the other one?

    Thanks.

  9. Hi everyone,

We are cruising the Western Mediterranean on the Epic in July, and were wondering how long we could realistically spend at each port?

The Norwegian website says "Due to security reasons, all guests must be on board 2 hours before sailing. Disembarkation usually begins 2 hours after docking. Itineraries are subject to change at any time without notice."

Does this mean I have to add 2 hours to every arrival time and subtract 2 hours from every departure time to work out how long we have on dry land? Does this apply to both ports in which we dock and where we tender? This seems like an awfully short time at port.

Also, we would like to get back on the ship as late as possible (as we assume most cruisers in the Western Mediterranean would want to), does this mean we will be on the ship 2 hours before departure, or simply that we will be in a long queue (especially on a tender day)? We are trying to work out what time to book dinner on board and are not sure when to book it with respect to the ship's departure time - we would like to eat dinner max 30 mins - 1 hour after getting on board.

    Thanks,

    Mark
