  1. We have reservations for 6:30 pm Passion Sunset Dinner and need to be back on the ship at 9:30 pm for a 10:00 departure from Aruba Does this allow us enough time for this dinner? Thanks in advance for advise.

  2. Can anyone advise how far the Passions Sunset Dinner is from the cruise dock? Is it within walking distance? Also, would you recommend this for dinner for a 10:00 pm departure. Thanks in advance for any comments. We are doing the Trikes Aruba at 1:30 pm with a return time to the dock at 5:00 pm.

  3. The Intercontiental is the closest.quote]

Holiday Inn port of Miami is .8 miles and Intercontinental is 1.3 miles from the port of miami according to map quest

jillmom2, I feel so stupid as I miss read the op's question. I thought the OP was talking about the Marketplace across the street from his/her hotel. Must of been reading to many post that day. Gee:rolleyes: I need a cruise. Ha, 17 days and will be on the Pearl!!!:D

  4. You know that Carnival DOES offer complimentary burials at sea as part of your cruise?

No, someone who dies on the same cruise is not eligible because of various legalities not to mention the fact that they must be cremated beforehand and the ship has no crematory. But just give it time. Gauging by the rate at which the cruise industry is going, a floating crematory is not far off.

But I digress. To bury a loved one at sea, simply creamate them, and then request permission to have the ceremony.

Carnival's staff will rope off the lowest aft deck and you will have all the time you need to say goodbye before you throw the container of ashes into the deep blue.

    Salty dingo,

Know of a family that did this and Carnival was wonderful to the family! It was very private, the Captain stayed with the family the entire time and the ships Chaplin was there to assist and comfort the family. The family was extremely pleased and did what their love one wanted.

  5. Oh yes, have a HUGE party! That's how I want to go out, with a splash in the ocean and the clinking of glasses.

Oh, and to the person who wants to be up on the Lido - wouldn't that make you the ultimate chair hog?

Hey Chair Hogs not invited!!!!So the rest of us can be the hogs on CHAIRS!!!!!!:p We are celebrating and have rights!!

  6. Heck, if I die on a cruise ship, just stick some flowers in my butt and throw me overboard. That would be a very inexpensive funeral.

And then, please find my husband a very sweet but pretty blonde. I wouldn't want him to be lonely. My only requirement is that she's nice to the kids.

Hey we can get some flowers in the d;)ining room!!!! But remember we have the party to celebrate your life on the Lido deck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once he pays the bar bill he is on his own!! Sorry not into finding the girlfriend that will work!!!

  7. Now you all have me thinking. What are the odds I won't make it for the whole cruise? If I'm feeling lucky (depends on your view) I could run up a huge gambling and drinking bill just in case I don't make it. That would be fun!

Ah, my luck it will be a few months after I get bill the paid off, that is if I don't die from shock when I open the statement and see how much fun I had.

Ah Bobby Mac, put in your will that you want to do one last cruise after you are gone in the beer cooler of casino bar. Hey we will have beer on you and through casino chips on the top of the cooler in your memory! Better than flowers!. Just don't freak us all out as we are celebrating in your memory and reach for the chips much less hand us a beer!

  8. 40 years ago, I was aboard a 1/2 freighter, 1/2 passenger ship. One of the passengers was an old priest who had just retired from his parish. His parishoners bought him a cruise in appreciation for all his years of service.

We departed from Newark, NJ and stopped in Charleston, S.C., then Jamaica and onward. One of the stops was in Cartagena, Colombia. We all climbed a long hill up to the old Spanish fort that guarded the Port/City in the colonial days. I saw the priest really enjoying himself. That evening at dinner, he was really happy and grateful for the gift his parishoners had given him. When I left the restaurant, he was still enjoying himself and all the guests at his table.

Next morning, we heard the news that during the night, he had passed away. His body was taken off the ship in Panama the next morning and was flown home.

A crewmember told me that when someone dies, they are placed in a freezer to minimize the decomposition of the body. On a cargo/passenger ship, it was probably in the same hold with the frozen food stores.

    Semper Fi!!!

  9. I want to be locked in the beer cooler. They say you can't take it with you, but I would try :D!

    Salty dingo,

The beer cooler at the Casino bars on the Conquest and Victory are pretty large! Those are some happening places in the evening at least when we were aboard those ships!!!!!;)

  10. They have special accomodations for the dearly departed. You can view it here.

Hey - if you die before the first non-US port of call, can your estate invoke the Vacation Guarantee? It would be a shame to lose those cruise days just because you die!

    Salty dingo,

I think you need one of those Fofo drinks!!!!!!!!

    LMAO!
