That was a thought for us too. But not something that I will let ruin our time out on the balcony. We are the non slide side.  - 15808 I believe.    What about you guys?

We are in 15808 on Sept. 13 ,2025.....

If you are earlier, let us know how it was....  When we booked there was only this room and 15208 available (now booked),  so we definitely won't be changing.  We are excited about these suites...

This is where it gets hard.  We have always gone to Teppanyaki and loved it.  However we went to it on the Escape in September and it was not very good.  This was our third time on the Escape.  The issue was the garlic.  The cook put so much garlic into the rice that it stayed with us for days.  We like garlic but this was so over the top.  So we thought maybe instead we would try Onda.  Do you know if you use the voucher for Cagneys /La Bistro or Los Lobos / Q do they also give you less than you would get with the dining package?

We had the same "Garlic" experience once before also....(could have been on the Escape?LOL)..  But this trip to Teppanyaki was very good.  We did ONDA this last trip, since our next 2 ships wont have it... So, we wanted to make sure we got there.  I'd definitely include ONDA in your schedule if possible, It was much different than LaCuchina.  with the Platinum vouchers ALL of the locations we've used them they only allow 1 app, 1 entree, 1 desert.  So, it is a little more restrictive than the typical dining plan.. They were flexible with us though at Cagneys and LosLobos...but we were in the Haven, so I'm not sure if that made a difference also...

Thank you for the reminder.  I need to totally remember to go there on the embarkation day.  My husband is also platinum and we both are looking forward to the ship tour.

I see you noted that it was La Cucina and Moderno.  Another cruiser posted that it would be Q and Los Lobos since the other two are not on the Encore.  I am excited to try Los Lobos for an entire meal.  Went to it on the Dawn but just had some appetizers and guacamole.   Did you try Onda?  If so did you like it?  If you were deciding on Onda vs Teppanyaki what would you pick?

The info on NCL website states that it is Q and Los Lobos.  And we had made reservations at LL to use our voucher.  BUT, while we were waiting for our dinner reservation at ONDA (a night earlier) we saw them accepting the vouchers for LaCuchina there....SO we ran and got our Voucher, and used it at ONDA.....It may have been a mistake on the hostess' part, but we took advantage. 2 in our party of 4 had the dinning plan.  The voucher doesn't allow as many items for dinner, but the dinning plan allowed us to order A LOT.  so, we added a pizza and 2 pastas to share for our table of 4.    The food at ONDA was good (but, Our table location SUCKED, so the atmosphere wasnt that great).  But, I think our family would vote for Teppenyaki over ONDA if they had to pick just one. we sailed on 12/8/19

They allowed you to use the platinum voucher in Ondo?? The platinum voucher on Encore is supposed to be good only for Q or Los Lobos for one voucher and Cagney’s or Le Bistro for the other voucher.

The voucher was printed saying only Q or LosLobos, but I saw one being used at the hostess desk. So, I asked and she said we could us it there also...so I did take advantage of it.... might have been a mistake, but it seemed like multiple people did it.

Anyone who has eaten at Onda using the SDP: How does the Specialty Dining Package work at Onda as far as what you can order? And is there an upcharge there? I've seen menu pics posted in places but no consensus on what you can order in what menu sections. I have the 7 day dining package and intend to go to Onda 4-5 times to try a broad selection from the menu.

I called NCL about this and all 3 reps I spoke to were clueless and could only read off the "terms and conditions" most of which didn't even apply to the ship I was specifically referencing, Encore. They also had no menu to reference and no way to tell me anything other than the restaurant exists on the ship and they can make reservations for me.

I was told by the NCL phone rep that "ALL" specialty dining includes unlimited appetizers, desserts and sides plus 1 entree. However when dining at Le Bistro on Gem in August I was told differently at the restaurant (ate there 6 nights!) and was limited on menu selections aside from the 1 entree rule which I can understand.

My wife and I had the SDP, our 2 daughters were able to use our platinum voucher for lacuchina. We ordered an app each, a pizza, 2 pastas, our mains, and a dessert ea.  Our daughters got an app, main, dessert. So we shared the pizza and the pastas with everyone.. it was WAY too much food.....

Hey there, my family and I are booked on the Encore for this December. Second time in the Haven Family Villa...woohoo! I'm curious, a lot of the mega ships seem to be leaving Miami in 2020, anyone know the reason?

I was thinking the same thing..... I dont think its just typical summer repositioning...  Joy/Bliss in Alaska/Mexico. Encore in NY. Escape in Europe/Orlando.....  Just leaves the Breakaway....??  seems odd?

We love cruising and are especially fond of the freestyle concept.  We have sailed on the Breakaway twice to Bermuda and more recently, on the Escape  (loved the Escape!!!).  I was going to book the Encore for Bermuda next year.  After looking through the threads and deck plans, I am having some second thoughts.  We cruise to enjoy the food, drinks, shows and relaxing places on the ships.  It seems the Encore is trying to attract families with adolescents and teens (thinking race track, laser tag and VR games).  Those things don't interest us much.  We can't afford Haven suites and really want to make sure there will be places to unwind, have a drink and read a book.   For those of you who are following the building of the Encore, do you think there will still be enough places to kick back and enjoy some quiet time?  Thanks to all!

We are booked for Dec. 8th. We are still excited to be on the encore.  I think you will still find plenty of places and time to relax.  Worse case, book now, and when the actual reviews come in in December, you can always change your plans. You should still have plenty of time to change cruises without a penalty.  My thoughts are , don’t fret over something that you can easily correct if you need to.

    Thank you.

What I am saying is, I can see my cabin is very close to the Horizon Lounge.  What I am asking is where can I access the pool/bar area of the Haven? Where are the glass doors on that side since it looks like one big solid line, but not solid on the other side.

    Thanks so much!

If it's like the others (which it should). There will be an access door off the hallway, into the pool area. Its about halfway down the hall. There will be a separate door to the bar area.. since it's still under construction I'm guessing, but I think you will be fine for easy access to the pool, bar, and lounge.

That one appears to be in the Haven complex... and there was a LONG line for the tours to get in yesterday.  I’ll stop up just to make sure there’s no easier way to see the room.

Oh, I see that 18102 is on the list..... we are booked in that suite (in 2021 LOL)..... but, I'd really like to know the balcony situation with that suite.... is there a divider to another suite balcony , or is it not next to any other.....

I know this is very specific to just me, but thought I'd ask anyway, you may be my only hope...LOL.   Thanks for all the pics, and enjoy the rest of your time on board.

Vacant deck plans...  It's been a long time since I prepped for my Escape Transatlantic by checking for updates daily, so maybe I am wrong, but it seems we had a lot more info by now.  Am I crazy? The anticipation is killing me.

LOL, I've been thinking the same thing.... But, I did just see that they added an actual ShoreX, that wasn't just in Miami.... I'm thinking of booking it just because I can...lol. 🚢

This is the “suite” we have booked for our Panama cruise in Feb 2021. We are sailing with our 2 grown up children , so this is perfect for us although we will miss a balcony. This will be our first family cruise

we are booked for Panama Canal on the Jan 31, 2021 cruise......  I thought we were the only ones booked out that far away.... looks like you have me beat by a few days. LOL. 😃🚢.. Enjoy your trip. We are also traveling with our grown daughters (unless I'm able to get them married off first lol)  in a 2 Bedroom H4 suite.

  12. You are on the September 2nd. Jewel cruise to Alaska? Uhhhh never mind....I see that you are on the Sept. 9th cruise.

Looks like my math was off a little...lol.

Enjoy your cruise. Don't use up all the fun, leave some for us.

  13. We've been on the Escape in the Haven. We will be in the Jewel Haven in 3 weeks (I'll try to come back later and compare them). LOVED the Haven restaurant, and the outside seating area for breakfast.. The courtyard was very nice, and the sundeck with Hot Tub was very nice. There was never anyone on the 2nd level enclosed deck area, so we could always find a quite area (we sailed in mid Sept., so fewer kids) It looks like they possibly have more haven suites than on the escape, so I'm concerned there may be more people.. But overall I think you will enjoy the Bliss Haven more than on the Pearl/Jewel. I am interested in seeing what the observation lounge will be like.
