  1. No emails with the social package, it allows for Instagram, Twitter, SnapChat, and very limited use of other sites. Texting between my iPhone and other iPhones did work with the Social plan. You’ll want Surf if you need access to email or you can use your loyalty minutes, if you get them, to check emails and browse.

Thanks, So_Tweetie!!! You are a peach! And you're So_Sweetie taking the time while on holiday to check these things out and share all of your information with us. Enjoy! Toot-Toot!

    Cheerio, Dearies! :*

  2. Thank you for watching my vlogs, I’m glad you enjoy them! Interesting that you could watch videos, I will have to try that! I’m onboard the Coral now and have decided to upgrade from Social to Surf because I found the lowest level too restrictive. So far so good with browsing speeds :D

Did Social allow you at all to check emails? To text? I don’t get emails with video attachments or anything like that. Wondering if Social Package will at least allow me to read emails and/or respond to texts without having to spend the bucks on the Surf Package if I don’t have to!! I squeak like a mouse!

  3. I'm curious to know if the Social Package (Unlimited access to the most popular social websites and applications.*) would include texts? I think I could live without checking Yahoo email -- especially since I would be able to do that while in ports of call on our upcoming Alaskan cruise. I hate the thought of paying $99 for the Surf Package. Any thoughts????

  4. I was also on that cruise. I was on the same deck that the murder happened, and I tend to agree with you..

I think some things could have been handled better. .

I never got a phone call. Did you call them?

These are some interesting differences.....especially in light of what another person on the same cruise has just reported:

"In addition to the $150 OBC, we all received a future cruise credit equal to 25% of our cruise fare paid. I think that is very generous compensation."

So, what's up with that? Were the passengers given a future cruise credit equal to 25% of your cruise fare paid or not? If some, why not all? Interesting. Very interesting.

  5. Hello Dearies!!!!

I'm not hearing anything from any recent Golden Princess cruisers!!! Where are they?? What about anyone else who has recently sailed and has tested the 15 drinkie-a-day limit!!! We want to know!!!! For certain, I'll be testing it come January 2018!!! Toot-Toot!

Furthermore, I'm convinced that IF they are imposing any daily limit to the AIBP it is due to those cheapskates who purchase a single package and then pilfer drinks for "everyone" else in their family/cabin! These kinds of policy changes are usually a result to rein in those who are dishonest in this regard. Thank you, moochers and cheapskates! I can only imagine the "numbers" of drinks one card could rack up getting drinks for the whole family that way!!! Tacky!!! As the previous post noted, the discretion of the bartender will come into play.

    Cheerio, Dearies!!!!

  6. Nice stroll down memory lane, Dearies.....but not getting us any concrete information about purported current practice of Golden Princess imposing daily limits on the number of alcohol drinks allowed on their AIBP (either through 'Sip and Sail' or their fixed price package). Hasn't anyone recently sailed Golden Princess or have friends who currently are sailing on her who can get us the scoop?

    Toot-Toot!

  7. If true, I wonder how they implemented it for those with pre-paid AIBP (including Sip & Sail perks) based on the advertised unlimited alcoholic drinks.

Sent from my iPad using Forums

This is an excellent point. Seems to me it would be a mess trying to figure that one out.

I've been watching another thread that said they were trying to limit it to 15 drinks per day....another that said 12 drinks per day.

Hoping to hear back from some people who recently sailed on Golden Princess to see what they might have to say....

  8. RED ALERT!!! RED ALERT!!! RED ALERT!!!

    Hello Once Again, Dearies!!!

A DF (Dear Friend) has just "come back new" again from yet ANOTHER Princess vacation --this time aboard the Regal. The scoop they heard from their favorite bartender while on holiday is that Princess is considering implementing a fleet wide restriction of nine (9) alcoholic drinks per day with their AIBP. After your ninth drinkie you have to start paying for each one thereafter at the regular rates. They also heard from staff that this is already the current practice aboard the Golden Princess to limit the AIBP to nine drinkies per day.

Sooooo.....has anyone heard anything about this? Do any of you Dearies who recently sailed aboard Golden Princess have any information about this that you can share? Or, would anyone who is scheduled to set sail aboard Golden Princess be willing to test this claim out and report back to us your experience?

Time for us to get sleuthing on this one and keep each other posted!!!

    Toot-Toot!

  10. Hello Dearies!!!!

Miracle of miracles!!!!! I booked a very nice hotel in Plantation....and then found it cheaper on a "third party" site. So I was gifted with their "lowest rate guarantee" honoring the lower rate than what I originally booked directly through the hotel's site AND I received a $50 credit for my next stay with that hotelier. So....I thank you very much--and so does my pocket book--for the recommendation to look at Plantation as a viable option when wanting to avoid the inflated costs around the cruise port terminal near Port Everglades!!!!

    Toot-Toot!!!

  11. Has anyone who is calling for closing this thread presented a legitimate case to close it?

What's the motivation to close it? We're on a discussion forum and we're having a discussion.

Do you mean other than that most obvious reason already given...being a "long time Princess cruiser"??? What more legitimate reason for stopping the thread do you need??;p

    Toot-Toot!

    Cheerio, Dearies!! :*

  12. Plantation would be the much better option vs Pompano. It's right down the highway (about 10 minutes from the port). Definitely stay in Plantation. Uber will run about $15 - $20. Note that you'll get on 595 in Plantation and the highway literally ends at the port entrance... it's barely 10 minutes. My last Uber ride from Cooper City (slightly further than Plantation) to the port was $17.46

You're a real Dearie, BNBR!!! Thank you for your quick reply! A special "Toot-Toot" to you for taking the time to help me. God reward you for your goodness.

The CC community is like a wonderful extended family .... but without all the dysfunction and obligations of birthday cards and presents at Christmas! ;p

    Cheerio, Dearies!!! :*
