  1. Hello -- I am looking for guidance from anyone who has redeemed 50,000 BOA CC points for the:

3 or 4 night Royal Caribbean cruise, (minimum available oceanview stateroom); value of cruise vacation fare may not exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000 USD value)

This seems like it would be a better deal ($1,000 value) versus redeeming for OBC ($500 value) but I can't find much information on it. Can anyone shed some light on their experience or understanding of the program?

    1. Do I need to find a oceanview stateroom where the cruise fare does not exceed $1,000 prior to redeeming? Would this be before or after any promotional discounts?
    2. Can I think of this as a $1,000 credit I can apply towards any stateroom at or above an oceanview?

    Thanks for any help!

  2. Hi All,

I was able to save $100 on repricing my cruise after final payment and it was applied as OBC.

Does anyone have any experience with this showing up in the cruise planner? I had my OBC from my credit card points show up today and this made me curious if I need to call and check in on the $100.

Sailing 9/5 if that helps with any timeframe issues I may be facing.

The earliest check-in time I have been able to book for Freedom was 1 PM and that was doing checkin as soon as I learned it was open. True, no longer  are there Checkin lines by C&A status, the lines are by checkin time. This is for Freedom out of Miami, only port I have done so far post-Covid.

Thank you so much. This answers my questions.

  4. Hi All,

Just booked Freedom out of Miami for 9/6. I am seeing that check in has drastically changed.

I am used to a 10:45 arrival at the port and generally being on board drink in hand before noon.

Now it appears loyalty status does not matters and you are given a time which is enforced? Has anyone had any recent experience with this? What is the earliest time slot for the wellness checks?

Trying to avoid the disappointment of following my normal routine just to be standing around for hours.

    Fully vaccinated if that matters..

If the price was listed in the weekly sales flyer, then it could be restricted to new bookings.

    Sales flyer is here:  http://www.creative.rccl.com/sales/royal/Multi_Dest/Special_Offers/rci_sales_event.pdf

Keep watching the price, if it does not change and it is no longer listed in the next flyer (due Thursday afternoon), then you still may be able to get it.

    Hi Clarea,

I am in the same situation as the OP. I noticed that the “Going going gone” sale ends at Wednesday 11:59PM ET. If I wake up tomorrow morning and the price is the same, does that mean the deal is over and I should be able to upgrade at the online price? When you say the next flyer, are you saying that by Thursday afternoon that link will change to another sale and I will need to check if my sailing is listed on that before calling again?

  6. Hello,

I was looking to book a cruise and my friend noticed a better price on a cruises only website. I keep checking the price on Royal Caribbean and it seems this third party website not only has a cheaper price but more cabins and better perks (no deposit required, on board credit).

I'm really nervous to book through anything but Royal directly..

Has anyone done this before? Will I still be able to view and modify my reservation through the Royal Caribbean site once it is linked to my C&A account?

Final question - Will I receive double point on my Royal CC if the purchase is not made through them?

  7. That's correct.

And to answer the OP's question: we were in Sea Class on Anthem two weeks ago (Spa JS). We arrived at the terminal shortly before 10:30am, checked in in about one minute, went through security very quickly (I don't recall a separate line for suites, but security was really fast), found the Royal Suite Class waiting area, which specifically said it was for Sea, Sky, and Star Classes, and barely had time to sit down before they announced the suites were boarding. We were on the ship at about 10:40am!

But the best perk of all was eating dinner in Coastal Kitchen! (Keep checking your Cruise Planner, which eventually should allow you to book your CK dinners on line before the cruise, if you aren't able to yet. I can't say enough good things about the food and service in CK!)

    Enjoy!

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was wondering.

I was lucky enough to book coastal kitchen every night at 6:15. I am very anxiously awaiting dining there. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Do you have any recommendations or other tips? We too are staying in the Spa JS on Deck 13. Hoping it’ll be worth it the first few days not having to go outside to get to the Solarium.

    Now I really can’t wait 🙂

  8. Hi All,

Sailing for the first time in JS and was wondering about Check In at Bayonne for Sea Class?

I know "Priority Boarding" is not specifically listed as a Sea Class perk, but am I allowed to use the separate security line and then check in lines for "Suite Guests"?

Just wondering what anyone else had experienced.

    Thanks!

  9. I'm sailing in a JS on Anthem 3/17/18. I was able to book the CK in the cruise planner every night for 6:15.

I hope that I am not turned away at the door after making these reservations. Does anyone have any experience with wait times at the CK? I really prefer the fixed 5:30 dining time but as I want to make use of CK that won't apply. I'm afraid I'll show up to a line of angry suite guests and be put last as I'm "only" in a JS.

  10. Bread baskets get recycled, don't kid yourself; I'd prefer they serve it the traditional way.

Seriously though that was my question when we were on Anthem. A bread basket was always brought over but I couldn't tell if it was the same one as the night before.

Do they keep track of 'your' bread basket and just refill what you eat? I find it hard to believe there is a cubby back there that they keep track and store individual tables bread baskets in.

I just find it kind of odd and gross. Who knows if I touched or sneezed on the other three rolls in my basket and they could end up with someone else!:o (n)(n)(n)

  11. And MANY of those people also buy a drink package.

So by bringing on extra wine, they are actually SAVING THE CRUISE LINE MONEY.

    How about that?

    +1 You're smart my friend.

I don't think you're "technically" allowed to bring packages of bottled water, but I read over and over about people doing this. Personally I find this more of an issue as they depend on cruise workers to deliver that to the room often times.

The bottom line is people will do what they want, and if it were a big enough issue, Royal would do something to stop it.

Seems to be a "we'll look the other way and hope you enjoy your vacation" type of thing.. Fine with me.

For the record I bring 2 bottles of champagne and buy the drink package. Nothing like chasing the GF around the room during sail away while I pop the cork :halo:

  12. I'll be emerald after upcoming cruise and have been hell bent on getting to Diamond. But the more I think about it, really.. whats the point? The drinks are a great benefit but I always buy the drink package so that negates any benefit there. I once ducked a rope (on accident?) and boarded with the Diamond +'s and that was pretty sweet. Still I think we boarded after the suite guests.

So I don't mean this in a negative way, I do want to get to Diamond, but what makes this level so special for people? From what I see priority boarding and free drinks. But if you're boarding after Suite guests and buying the drink package, is it just a status thing? More pull at guest services?

    Really just curious..

  13. I am so confused. I am sailing on the Anthem 10/27/17 in a junior suite 11238. Can anyone tell me which category I am in. We are two people sailing.

    Thank you,

    Steve, Medford NY

11238 is a Spa Junior Suite. In my opinion the best JS available. You will have a Toilet / Sink on one side of your room and a walk in shower, stand alone tub/shower and sink on the other side. Located on the hump near the elevators.
