  1. Hub app is free, which gives you the schedules and menus, and access to monitor your account. Chat feature is $5 per device and covers the entire cruise, and is optional. If all aboard in your group have purchased an internet plan, then Chat is not needed. But if all you need to do is contact the others in your group, Hub Chat is the less expensive way to go.

  2. Carnival Hub has the free portion which has the schedule of events, dining options, menus, and account info. For $5 per device (good for the entire cruise) the Hub Chat feature allows you to text (via the chat feature within the Hub app) others who have activated the Chat feature. Hub and Chat do not require the additional expenses of any internet package. You can purchase/activate the internet package from within the Hub app.

They advertise that the social package supports Facebook messenger. I've seen here on CC some have had limited "luck" in other text apps but don't have experience with them on the ship. We used the Hub Chat with our group because it was the least expensive overall for all involved in our group.

  3. Perhaps once you speak with the girl's parents and they realize that unless they go, their girl won't go, they will prioritize her time. Sometimes reality has to slap you in the face to bring you back down to reality. I would only let the girl go if her parent accompanied her AND took full responsibility for her 100% of the entire trip.

  4. In July 2017 it was $13 adults and $6.50 children. We were there for a little over an hour but could have stayed longer had others in our group (family) not been so eager to get back to the ship (missing their Cheers time...).

  5. Make a parent come as a chaperone and assign them to her. Since she has a proven track record for not listening. Not only is Nassau a 'distraction' to her, the locals seem to try to pull groups apart - that's too much of a risk for anyone else to take on. Either keep her on the ship, have her own parent responsible for her, or leave her at home. 14 year olds should know how to follow directions or face the consequences.

  6. We went there in July of this year. It was not crowded and the cost more reasonable than most excursions. I was in a wheelchair and we walked there. Just crowded sidewalks and cobblestone streets for most of the way there. You also pass the straw market on your way, so there is another point of interest.

Nassau sidewalks or streets are not too wheelchair friendly I but the Pirates Museum and straw market was. Lucky I had my son to help push me, and I was able to get up to traverse getting down the curbs from the sidewalk to the street and back. Had a good time in the Pirates Museum - take time to read the placques. Most of the straw market was overstuffed with the same stuff, just many pushy vendors. On one exterior side of the market they have vendors carving wood objects which was very interesting and probably the only part of the market I liked or would go back to.

  7. Carnival Hub Chat is $5 per phone for the cruise. You need to add others with Carnival Hub Chat to be able to message each other. Internet not needed in that case. Social internet is $5 or $7 a day and can connect one device at a time per package, but you can reassign which device easily. Don't think they allow You Tube as they don't allow streaming.

  8. If carnival would publish the Fun Times, at least the bare bones schedule ahead of the cruise, many of the questions & answers would be clear. Had I had known the show schedules before boarding the ship, I would have gone straight to the MDR to try to get my assigned dining time changed.

  9. We found that we did miss some of the shows due to late assigned dining, but we preferred the food quality in the MDR over the buffet, so we accepted missing the shows. The one time we did miss the MDR dinner in order to see the family friendly comedy show, we regretted it as the comedian (if that is what he wanted to call himself) was terrible and he was a disaster. Had we pushed for the early dinning, the show schedules would have not conflicted with dining.

  10. I had the Endless Bubbles so they brought it in a glass with ice - the receipt I signed I pretty sure included gratuity but I may be mistaken. I did see $2.25 but vaguely remember $1.95 or $1.98, which may support $2.25 being the cost with gratuity.

  11. We just returned from the Carnival Magic (7/2/17-7/8/17). #1-Water was delivered mid-afternoon on the embarkation day. #2-We had Bottomless Bubbles. Quality seemed ok. Saw them open cans and pour over ice in glass. Beats the bar soda from the hoses. #3-Frig was already empty. Only item was one big bottle of water that they would charge $3.75 if you opened it. #4-Room steward asked Morning or Evening service, we asked if we could get both, and he said yes and did. #5- Chat is $5 per phone for the cruise. Internet is not needed for chat. If you want social media/email/internet it is separate charge available either with a daily charge or a cruise length.

  12. The condition of the pier and the sidewalks and roads are terrible (I was in a wheelchair and had an able body son who helped push me) and it was difficult to navigate the curbs and potholes. You were mobbed by taxis/private tour operator and street 'vendors'. Nassau did not have much of interest to us. We found the other ports much better in condition, design, and interest.
