  1. Actually the food is dissimilar. Qsine is small portion, to be shared usually, and ordered from an IPAd. LPC is fixed menu ) 2 choices)..one night included bouillabaise, lobster , filet and dessert.

The two restaurants really cant be compared. BTW Try youtbe for LPC

  2. LPC is Le Petit Chef. I ate their twice on the Connie in November. It was a great dining experience-food great and table top "show" unique. I really liked Qsine but after 2 nights at LPC i was hooked. You can check it out on youtube.

In the case of a 15 night cruise they changed their menu once half way thru. Enjoy!!

  3. I was aboard..the ship broke from it's moorings in La Spezia. Lost a gangway. It slid backwards and hit another cruise ship. No damage to that ship, and very little damage to the Constellation. No one was evacuated. But, because we were going to be very late getting to Civetavecchia, they put passengers on busses ( at midnight) who needed to get to FCO. It was a 6 1/2 hour bus ride through the night. :classic_blink:

Communication from Constellation captain was inadequate..and organization to get on the buses very chaotic.

I was not impressed as to how it was all handled. No compensation as yet. ( I am not holding my breathe.) If the delay going to Civitevecchia was soley due to weather then I understand. However if the delay was caused by the collision then Celebrity needs to step up and make it right. Of course I am sure I'll never know the real cause for the delay.

  4. we have just returned from a RCCL circumnavigation of Australia and New Zealand's South Island. We only used a ship excursion once for the GBR. Otherwise we did some ports on our own and several with private companies. I suggest you use one's that have high ratings on Trip Advisor. They won't stay in business if you miss the ship! In Akaroa we did a fun informative excursion with a local mail man :) Have a great time!

When needing tender tickets one of us went down to the issuing location and stood for 1/2 to 3/4/ hour before it opens and got very early tenders...never missed our excursion.

  5. Thanks for the info on the Gourmet Walking Tour. I have contacted Nancy as our ship ( Celebrity Constellation ) docks at 9:00 Oct.26 and the tour starts at 9:30?? to see if she can accommodate that. Contacting her through the site you provided is about 13 Euros cheaper than TA. Your suggestion is much appreciated.:D:D

  6. I am so sorry for your pain and dilemma..however, you must check your insurance very carefully. The question is: If you were to have a complication after the surgery on board would the post surgery issues not fall under pre-existing and therefore perhaps no coverage?

I hope this all turns out well for you. Speedy recovery!

  7. Very interesting info thank you.

I have a question. I will be on my first b2b in Feb/March on the Radiance 2018. We arrive in Freemantle at 6:30. We are being picked up at 9:30 for an excursion ( not organized by RC)

Is it realistic that we can make the "meeting" and meet our guide at 9:30?

    Thanks for your help

  8. Must add my 2 cents worth here. On my cruises (B2B) both had drinking packages at $50.74 ( this price appeared after RC announced both people in a stateroom had to take the package if one did). It was not posted as a sale price. The came the BOGO1/2 off...but the price didn't change. Yes I know that it clearly said the price shown reflects the discount.

However!!! IMO this is dishonest, very deceptive, and unacceptable. If they put the price up ( and all the math has been done above) then the statement would be true. But they did not. One day the full price is $50.74 and the next the BOGO 1/2 off is the same price...I am determined not to let this spoil my fun time or positive attitude. But I am seeking further explanation from RC. In a retail store this would be against the law.. thanks for allowing the vent..

  9. The Ponsonby Manor recommended we use a shuttle service ( We arrive at 7 Am).

Apparently their location is very near buses. 2 km from CBD, 10 min by bus, walk 20 minutes. It is a 10-20 minute walk to the ferry. Their website will allow you to ask them questions and they are very responsive for more info.
