I've watched several videos on YT about dining at Emeril's. You order all your food at the counter and then find a table. They deliver your order but not in courses. On one vid the person was eating their salad and they brought her appetizers and entrée. The tiny table was full of plates. She had to ask that they please not bring the dessert until they were ready for it.

Is this on top of our 15 Cheers drinks?

For meat eaters, you will be fine. tons of fat, fried foods, full of sugar for you.
Too bad you don't eat in the main dining room. You sound like a fun table mate.

After touring, get off the Hoho (we used the red one) at Plaça Catalunya. Take
AEROBÚS (approx 6 euro per person) to BCN airport from Plaça Catalunya.

if you have a drinks package you cannotuse it in the speciality bars.
Which specialty bars?

Get a room close to the stairs/elevator to avoid long walks to your cabin. It's a big ship.

If you are on the ship 10/31 and don't like crowds I suggest you avoid the Halloween party. Other than that I never felt overcrowded on the transatlantic last year.

We had a Boardwalk Balcony and sat out during a downpour. The balcony above you is your balcony's roof so your are protected. If it was windy we would have probably got wet.

Posting without adding much to the main issue addressed in the thread.
How do I say thank you without sounding like a .... well you know.

I agree with you 110%. The Abyss is loud and ugly and not all that much fun to ride. No more Boardwalk for us. Our cabin on the Symphony is located in Central Park. Just hope Royal doesn't find a way to ruin that space.
-
We have been in the same area on both Allure and Harmony. 725/727 Booked Central Park for the Symphony. Disclaimer - I have mild neuropathy in my feet. It is a long walk to the stairs and elevator. We did the Med on the Allure and after walking so much during the 5 port days I hated that long trek to the cabin. But the view was worth it. The boardwalk is active for people watching but tends to be loud. The transatlantic on the Harmony was 2 weeks of back and forth that long hall. And the Harmony had that awful noisy slide obstructing the ocean view. If you don't mind the walk the Oasis view should be worth it. Enjoy before that monstrosity Abyss is installed. My wife did not mind the walk at all.

Waste disposal. She still uses towels and sheets. And most importantly, she takes up a lifeboat slot.
I once watched a family let their barely upright child grind cracker crumbs into the floor, couch and smeared over the glass table top and then just blithely left a disaster behind for the staff to clean up.
$1400 is one hellova laundry and cleaning bill for a 9 month old. And a 9 month old would easily fit on a lap in a lifeboat emergency. No way could I justify paying that ridiculous fare.

What is the Persian Garden? What is in there?

We expect a European Liner to have better food. So we will keep checking reviews. Anyone who reads this and can confirm that the food is very good it would be very much appreciated. MSC CRUISE SINFONIA MAY 5 2017 departure
I don't know why you expect a European Liner to have better food? Maybe on a luxury liner or in the MSC Yacht Club. We ate in the MDR of the Splendida and I found it very disappointing. We still loved the cruise but not because of the food.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I'm sure we will be fine. I realise it is important not to stop going on holiday otherwise terrorists have won. I suppos I'm also just not comfortable with Putin's actions across the world at the moment.
So is your concern with Putin or terrorism? We leave in just a few weeks. We are concerned but just feel we need to be vigilant. Cruise lines are not risk takers and your safety is priority. If you are not comfortable I would suggest you find a vacation you can enjoy. Especially before final payment is made.

And your point???? This entire forum is for people to share their "subjective" experiences. No one said that it was the gospel. It is just one's opinion. If you don't want to try the food listed in the thread, then don't.
My opinion is that you should not take an MSC cruise for the dining experience. Other than the pizza, a few pasta dishes, some breads, and a desserts or two, I found it disappointing. Go with LOW expectations and you may be pleasantly surprised. By the way, my wife disagrees with me on this subject.
We loved the Splendida and just booked the Seaview for 2018. The overall MSC experience was very good.

That is pretty awesome. Two chairs and two loungers also. Looks like plenty of room.

Some good photos of the balcony in post #8
Those pics are exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate the link.
Thanks to everyone for the responses.

We were in 8390 on Adventure last year, and the corner aft was larger than any side facing balcony we've ever had. 9390 is basically the same balcony, but a little smaller. I'd say(without 1st hand experience) you will not be sacrificing balcony space, and will have a spectacular view.
I can't find any really detailed pictures of it. I know there is a superstructure beam that runs down the back of the balcony. Just want to make sure two people can sit comfortably. We have only had an aft cabin once and loved it. It's on hold and we have until Sunday to book.
-
Has anyone booked cabin 9390 or 9690 on Mariner OTS? It's a aft cabin with a pie shaped balcony. I'm not sure if all Voyager class ships have this?
What did you think about it? Would you recommend or should we choose another?
We got a great price for this aft cabin out of Singapore. Our only concern is the shape/size of the balcony. But the view may trump size.

Here are a few of them :
Guy's Burger ( best burger at sea)
BlueIguanaCantina (amazing Mexican food)
Red Frog pub ( fun for beer lovers)
Alchemy Bar ( great atmosphere and drinks)
Newer ship decor much improved on previous older ship.
Spacious cabin
Water work (Kids and adults like me love it)
Great comedy club
Adult only pool Serenity very confortable and quiet
Thanks
Sea ya
Eric
I agree. I think Guy's is the best burger I've had at sea. I also think Carnival pizza is awesome. The Indian restaurant Tandoor was delicious too. Those are mostly daytime options but my wife and I both thought the MDR food was good. The staff has always been one of our favorite things about Carnival.
We are looking forward to sailing Celebrity again this May but we would never have a problem going back to Carnival.
