  1. Has anybody used both within the past couple years and can compare? It would be for the Shark Ray/Coral Garden snorkel tour.

Quality of boats used, tour guides? I've seen good and bad reviews for both so I'm really torn who to book with. clear.png?emoji-confused-1977

I prefer not to use the cruise line tour due to overcrowding and cost.

  2. Hoping to take the Coral Garden/Shark Ray/Cay Caulker Island Snorkel excursion in November.

Unfortunately I'm on a medication that makes me more sensitive to the sun, thus I can get burnt easily. I will of course take precautions and wear sunscreen, hat, long sleeved swim shirt, etc. But I admit I am worried 4-5 hours out in the open, even with sunscreen, is just going to be too much and I will be a crispy critter. :(

So I'm hoping to find an excursion provider whose boats have some shade, even just a canopy, that pick up at the terminal? Anybody have recommendations?

I realize they may have to put a canopy down when traveling at higher speeds to the island but was just hoping it would be put up at least some of the time. Or are all the excursion boats open?

I asked Shore Excursioneer but they haven't given an answer yet. Coral Breeze said none of their boats have shade. :(

Carnival offers this excursion but I don't know what company they use?

Also, if anyone has taken this excursion through Carnival, do they pick you up at the ship or at the terminal?

    Thanks for any input!

  3. I was told here to check daily. Some days I'd forget, some days I'd check 4 or 5 times, but I tried to at least once or twice a day. After 3 months I was really skeptical, thinking there was no way I'd ever get it and I was waiting my time. I started losing interest in looking.

A few nights ago I couldn't sleep and at 1:30 am I checked and I was so used to seeing "Sold Out" I thought I was dreaming when I saw it said available! I even double checked the next morning to see if I actually bought it or just imagined it! :)

I will say that this was around the time final payment for the cruise was due. From what I have read the days around that timepoint is the best time to look often because they have a better idea how many diamond and such are cruising and may release FTTF's.

My travel agent said he has had clients snag them within the last couple weeks, even just 5 days before a cruise though. So don't give up and look at random times!
