They have been testing reducing menu options in the dining rooms and changing the lobster night so that a person can get one larger tail and be charged for additional.  The gluttons who would eat as many as ten are up in arms.

Not sure where this comes from but after doing back to backs from Venice to Tampa on Brilliance in Oct/Nov..I can attest that there was no shortage of Lobsters!…they were smaller tails but plentiful. After the initial one we were offered as many as asked for…and without any kind of charges…on both legs of our cruises. Only complaint was the poorer dining service…but only as compared to pre Covid days.

Hi there we are booked on a Cruise out of Brisbane in November  Currently the Deluxe Drink package is $67- per day   From experience when is the best time to buy the drink package?  Does it get more expensive the closer the cruise date?  Thanks

Before the cruise. Even with discounts it is more onboard. Keep watching your cruise ( after you’ve logged into the site) and watch for sales. You can usually find anywhere from 10-40% off prior to sailing, and even if you buy one you can cancel it and then re buy it at the better deal.

  3. Steak Aoyama in Kobe Japan. The Kobe steak is something every meat eater should experience., and this tiny place was absolutely amazing. And a nice second place for us goes to...c40a865d71d67ce6e58481df8f472d81.jpg7ec7fd18ad2233eee427fe08b31f5118.jpg200cef7c9e9b4751fa44a75562a31c81.jpgdca3ac77660dffd45278987513fb2030.jpgTracy’s crab shack in Juneau...short walk from the ship. Sweetest freshest crab, crab cakes and crab bisque you’ll ever have.

  4. I knew they offered air, but first I heard they offer hotels. It must not be a popular choice or would be more posts about it.

I too have always just booked my own hotels.

Have used this option ( plus airport to hotel/hotel to ship transfers also)...have used from Tokyo to Australia to Rome. Hotels have all been excellent though The costs have been high. The freedom to relax and know everything is backed up by RCCL ensuring your stay and transportation goes a long ways in enjoying a worry free trip.

  5. Both Celebrity and RCCL do cruises to from and through Hawaii as part of their transitioning to Alaska for the summer season usually from Australia. This past year Some we’re out of Seattle but usually out of Vancouver. We have done both directions ( to Hawaii from Vancouver and to Vancouver from Hawaii) ...obviously one in spring one in fall. Bear in mind that they do B2Bs from Vancouver if you want. Both were very relaxing and we would recommend. One thing to consider....the trip southwest will see you entering warmer weather enroute where travelling northeast will get cooler...food for thought.

  6. Just spoke with my TA. She called Celeb and cannot get a confirmation of anything regarding the 24 hour exemptions. They have given her various answers from “ you should be ok” to “ it’s not for us to advise”....Celeb Covering their butts...(.She is trying to get a response from the Chinese embassy ..( we are Canadian)

from all I’ve found on the web today, because we ARE going from Japan to China (Shanghai) then we make that technical stop in Korea before continuing to Taiwan we are ok. It’s only if you go from Shanghai to Taiwan or to another mainland China stop that negates the visa. Having said that I’m not an expert and am only offering my personally obtained info that I interpret from various websites.

I will update when I get a sure fire definitive answer from my TA.

  7. Any word from Celebrity if the Millennium will still be finishing up in Hong Kong Dec. 7th?....it Departs from a Tokyo on Nov 23rd. Very concerned if disembarkation will still be there due to the protests in that country and also because it overnights there prior to disembarkation ...Airfare home and hotels in HK already booked and paid for!

I’ve seen nothing on their website even saying they are monitoring the situation .....
