  1.

OS had a sim card sent from Germany to his place of stay in Switzerland. He paid 5 Euros per week for 500 mb of data (no text or phone calls). We used WhatsApp or facebook messenger to keep in contact with him while he was travelling and we were at home in Canada.

The sim card did not work in Russia or Hungary. We did not need it in Russia as we were on a tour with a guide and driver. To keep in touch with us from Budapest he had to find free wifi.

Other than Russia it worked fine in the other ports. Germany was a little different,. As soon as we crossed into Germany from the Czech Republic the 5 euro a week package did not work, he used the same card but had to buy a monthly data package from a German carrier.

A bit complicated for me, but for his age group it's just routine.

You should switch to T-Mobile. The plans includes free data roaming in 140+ different countries.

  2. Ok, now I'm a little bit worried about this.

I'm going to do this same cruise in July 28, but my embarkation port is Warnemunde instead of Copenhagen. If the ship couldn't dock in Warnemunde I really didn't know what to do in that situation, mainly because I'll be with a 9 people group. I know that ports could be skipped but the embarkation port can't be one of them!

  3. Thanks for your great review! I know Ocean Blue is priced a la carte rather than one fixed price like all the other premium restaurants. How were the prices at Ocean Blue? Do you remember how much the lobster was? Just curious! :)

I discovered this site with a bunch of menus from Getaway (actually I think it's all the NCL ships):

Maybe there is your information. I don't know if everything is up to date, but I'm already planning what to eat while onboard :D.

  4. Thank you very much for the response!

I booked Getawat but the embarkation port is Warnemunde/Germany. At least on July, this ship is "itinerary", since it doesn't have a final port and always continue, with trips starting both from Copenhagen and Warnemunde. Did it happen in your cruise?

If so, I'm a little curious about the on board safety training. Did it happens twice? How they manage different people to do this training?

  5. Also going in the same itinerary in July-August. Is really good to see a review about this specific route :)

For now, I only have one question: why is the immigration in Russia is slow? Is any situation about people who don't have a Visa? I actually see in some roll call posts that russian officers just allow you enter in the country if you have a booked tour. Since I have a brazilian passport, I can enter in the country without a visa, so I'm planning to discover St. Petesburg by myself.

    Thanks!
