I would leave it under the fake carpet in the safe.  I am always picking that up looking for my ring which seems to fall under it.

I was going to suggest the same thing.

Since that's been taken, I guess it depends how much effort people want to go to.

You might get some ideas from this Modern Rogue video. Now obviously you probably shouldn't tear things apart, but on the back of a painting, or the underside of a draw might work.

  2. silly people blowing the whistle ( don't want to think where it could have been ).

Yeah I always think the same thing when I see/hear people blowing the whistles.

I also wonder with how many people play with the jackets, whether the battery that powers the automatic-when-in-water light is flat on numerous jackets.

  3. As much as I enjoy being able to just relax as far as clothing* on a cruise, I do enjoy dressing up**. I'll probably eventually get around to buying a proper tux, but for the moment my thai-tailored suit works just fine.

As to why I like dressing up? I just like feeling classy, and it's a simple way to look as well as feel classy, as well as showing you're willing to put in the effort on special occasions. Plus as someone who is quite young compared to many people I see on cruises, its really not that hard for me to take the 5-10 minutes to change into a suit (though sharing a cabin with others does slow things down a bit trying to move around haha).

*My relaxed/everyday clothing is "smart casual".

**Either in formal attire or in a costume, for princess formal nights, the former though.

  4. Half way through our most recent cruise, we realised we hadn't been getting the towel animals that we normally did. Maybe we've just been lucky as far as stewards liking folding fauna in the past (across P&O, RC, and Princess).

  5. We just got off the previous sailing of the Golden (15 days), and about 1 in 5 times they tried to punch it.

The most often cause was ordering the hot chocolate too close to the time we got a no-punch coffee.

What we found worked best to get a hot chocolate without punching is:

    1) don't go to the same bar multiple times close together.

    2) don't try and order multiple no-punch drinks at the same time

    3) don't hand the card over. Stand a few feet from the bar and just hold the card up so they can see that you have one.

Also, and I'm not sure if this is a new thing or not, but always ensure that the lid is tightly on the whole way around (it can be loose without looking loose), otherwise your no-punch hot chocolate will become a no-punch stain on your dressing gown.
