The staff at Alfredo's assisted in arranging the carry-on luggage near our table; seems they are accustom to doing this for passengers who stop there for lunch prior to the cabins being ready. There appears to be more space between tables than in the MDR. All 5 of us had carry on cases, a couple of small back packs and DH & I had a rather large duffel bag filled with soiled laundry, awaiting access to the self-serve washers & dryers.

Good to know
Thanks

We were recently on the Royal for a BI cruise and our first stop after boarding was Alfredo's for lunch. Since the rooms were not ready, [access after 1:PM] and we were hauling our carry on luggage, avoiding the first day chaos of the Horizon Court/Bistro was paramount. We ordered a few salad/appetizers, excellent minestrone soup, two pizzas, and a couple of the light entrees...for the 5 of us to share. Oh, the carafe of sangria was very good, too. It was quiet and relaxing. By the time we finished our meal, the cabins were open and our luggage was outside the door.

Thanks, Darcy. I may have to rearrange our carry on stuff so I can have some of it delivered to our cabin (not CPAP, prescriptions etc) and have less stuff to haul around, if we manage to get there early.

Alfredo's open every day including embarkation day from 11am until late evening.
Thanks everyone.

We were going to meet some new friends at Alfredo's for lunch on embarkations day. I know the buffet and one of the dining rooms will be open, and I had thought I read somewhere that Alfredo's and the International Cafe will also be open but I can't find it now.
Anyone here that can give me a quick answer.
Thanks

There is at least one thread on the Britain forum about the new (2018) shuttle service

the roads are great and views are spectacular!
But the driver has a hard time enjoying the scenery cause they have to keep their eyes on the road. ;)

Last time on Princess I had the soda and more but was unsure what drinks I could order under the package.
So this time I'd like to ask everyone what their favourite non-alcoholic drinks are so that I'm not sticking to just diet pepsi all the time?
Thanks in advance:tropical-drink:
I believe Princess is a coke ship, I've been planning on taking diet pepsi.

Royal Princess got in before 7 AM and they announced the ship got cleared around 7:30. We had a private tour at 8:30 with a group of 8 people. We are Elites they said we can take 2 friends as priority tendering with us but we did not have to because by then it was hardly anymore people in the waiting room.
With 6 tenders to start out they moved people off the ship very quick.
I hope the information is helpful.
Thanks

Indeed - would love more details. The statement "with our group" was ambiguous to me; were you on a Princess tour (and thus your group got the priority tender), or do you mean "your travelling companions" and you were actually able to tender that early without a Princess tour.
Also, any more info on the new x99 bus at S Queensferry? We're on the Royal for the UK itinerary 18 June cruise and we find that we're making last-minute adjustments to our plans based on reports from the current cruises (e.g. we have decided to rent a car on Guernsey, as the buses are apparently not useful for hopping off; they are so full that it can be hard to get on again).
We are on the June 6th BI cruise and I will try to do a quick update from the ship about Edinburgh, if nothing else til we get home.

We were on May 1-13 Royal Princess, Princess had 4 their own tenders and 2 large local tenders at early in the morning. We left the ship around 8:00 AM with our group with no waiting. In the afternoon after the tour around 5:15 PM Princess had their tenders plus 1 large local tender to return to the ship.
How early did you get in line? Did you get Priority tendering, Elite etc? I understand that makes a difference in how fast you get off.
Thanks

i don't even want to know. All i know is, i would not want to be surrounded by a bunch of people who care what color their stupid card is.

I bought something like this
at Walmart for about $3, I liked that they weren't right next too each sometimes side by side it gets a little tight. I also have an old USB hub that I'm taking. I have a very nice 3plug 2usb adaptor but turns out it has surge suppression so that's a no no. I even go so far as to plug everything in ahead of time to make sure I have room to plug everything in and all the necessary cables.

DH likes to see the clock when he wakes up, I'd be fine with my phone. We have a pretty small travel clock that operates on battery, will take new battery and hope it lasts.

I was in Edinburgh last May on CP and gave myself 45 minutes for the tender trip. I am elite so I was able to get on the tender in only a few minutes - where I waited at least 20 minutes as the tender filled up.
I would plan for at least an hour - 90 minutes to be safe - to make the tender trip.

From the time the ship "docked" to the time they started tendering was about how long? We are supposed to arrive at 7 and since we aren't Elite, planned on being in line by 6:30 to get tender tickets for an 8:30 taxi pickup.
Feasible or possible?
TIA

When I booked mine the window was 1.5 hours.
-
That will vary by each ship I would think.
I’m curious as to approximate length of time it takes to tender each tender sails.
Forgot Royal Princess wouldn't be the only ship using the shuttles.
Curious how long it took passengers on Royal Princess to tender off.
-
I'd love to know how fast everyone was able to tender off.
-
We take a travel alarm cause my husband likes to see time when he wakes up. It's very small, battery operated and he doesn't want to screw with a phone which will probably be across the room getting charged.

We are going to be staying in the Notting Hill area and will be visiting the Tower of London on Friday. Since all of the advice says to get there early, I think that's going to mean traveling in peak time. What is our best option for getting there, bus tube or ?. About how early should we plan on starting out to be at TOL at opening? Should we leave really early and plan on finding somewhere for breakfast after we get there?
We will have been in London a couple of days before going to TOL.
Thanks

I hope it works that way for us,

New to cruising.
I understand that I will print out the boarding pass. Is this the same or separate from what I need to put on my luggage? I am planning to purchase some luggage tags for cruises.
You will have your luggage identification tags that you use when flying, When you get ready to go to the port, then you add your cruise ship luggage tags. Wouldn't hurt to put some identification inside the luggage also. For plane more than cruise.
Best area to stay in London
in British Isles/Western Europe

Thank you for instructions. Would have worked great except they were doing some work. A king lady took us under her wing and hot us on the correct train. Beautiful weather, lovely time at the Tower.
