  1. Hello, we are sailing next month on Harmony, our first cruise on RC and first with the kids (3 and 5 yo).

I know they have PnPs and portable cribs, but I think my 3 yo is going to be a little big to be comfortable in one for a week. Each sleeps in a twin bed with comforters at home - same room - but they are fairly low to the ground. In fact 3yo DD has her mattress literally on the floor.

Does anyone have any experience with this, and whether RC offers a bed rail for younger kids? Or have other ideas?

Ideally I'd get two bed rails and put them on each side of the pullout bed and they could sleep together in that while we sleep in the main bed.

  2. I believe Adventure Ocean hours are essentially "All Day" on Port days and on Sea Days they are CLOSED 12-2p for lunch and another window for dinner in early evening. I believe they only serve lunch/dinner to your kids when it's a port day.

BUT I believe you can sign your children up for a feature of Adventure Ocean where you go eat with your kids and about 45 mins in, AO staff will "pickup" your kids in the dining room and take them to AO while you finish a nice meal.

I think RC's kids club is one of the highest rated among all cruise lines, so I bet yours will love it.

  3. I've never been on RC but we are going with 5 and 3 next month (!)

From what I've read, they are flexible on the ages within reason, especially if siblings. I've read they will let kids see what they are comfortable with after participating in the diff age rooms, or that they will place them based on the parents request. For example, a 9 year old may feel more comfortable with the lower group/activities, or a 5 yo with the older group, etc. I've read that they will let the parents and kids determine what is best.

Again not from personal experience, but I do not think you will have any trouble requesting this.

  4. Thank you all so much! All very helpful info.

PP re: Disney laundry area - never knew that! We are staying at a Disney property so I will be sure to find it.

PP - so true about happy kids making good dinner companions.

When we go to a nice restaurant on land/at home, we don't take the kids if we can help it :halo:

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will take a look around and see if I can find some things on sale for 1-2 slightly nicer outfits. That might make them feel like it's more special and fun.

  5. We are setting sail in July on Harmony OTS with our 5yo son and 3 yo daughter. First time on RC but DH and I have cruised 4 or 5 other times - Princess and Celebrity. First time cruising in several years and first time with the kids!

My question here is what such young children can get away with wearing. Typically my daughter wears leggings/bike shorts and a tee/top, and son wears "sweat" shorts with a drawstring and a tee. They don't like jeans or "real" pants with anything other than an elastic waistband :')

For the MDRs and the Specialty restaurants, is that okay? Not on formal nights, just on the other nights.

Thank you! I'm trying to pack light as we also have 3 days in disney prior to that so will have to pack for 10 days of travel!
