  1. We set sail on Norwegian Star this Sunday May 22 and I am trying to purchase a premium wifi package so we can stream tv shows, movies, etc

during the cruise (especially on at sea days) BUT there is NOWHERE on NCL's webpage to sign up for streaming wifi!   Can anyone help?   Have you ever

used their streaming wifi?   I have even call NCL's customer service and they were NO help.  Thanks for you help.

  2. J   thanks for you information, since I didn't know any of these cities I was wondering if they were kind of uneventful.  I have researched them all to some degree but of course only glowing information is shown on their individual Google pages .

I always do a lot of research no matter where we are traveling and since we will never go back to Japan I am doing extra research. B

  3. We am looking to book on  RCL Quantum of the Seas cruise around Japan in April 2021.  Almost all of the

ports are cities I haven't heard of before, not the typical Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka, etc.   I was wondering

if anyone had visited the following cities and could give me some insight as to if this would be a good cruise?

Sapporo(Muroran)    Hakodata   Akita   Kanazawa    Sakaiminato    Busan, South Korea    Kumamoto

Thanks SO much for your help.    B.

  4. I too should be on a VERY anticipated 20 day cruise right now (with Norwegian though) thru the Panama Canal and ending in Seattle; unfortunately that cruise isn't being offered again thru 2021.

I  AM looking at going on a Royal Caribbean cruise around Japan in April 2021.  Plane tickets to Japan are very inexpensive right now, even for 2021, so we probably will book that cruise.

Here in NE Florida things haven't been too bad with cases and deaths.  We do wear a mask whenever we go out and respect social distancing     Hope everyone continues to be healthy.

  5. Spookwife      Thank you SO much for all that information!   I was sure we could fine other foods but he is a picky eater😣.    We would definitely go to places outside of Tokyo so thanks for that.    The cruise I am looking at does several ports so I might keep checking it out.

BTW  we are in St. Augustine and family use to live in Pensacola.

  6. Since our NCL 20 day cruise from Florida thru Panama Canal ending in Seattle got cancelled (it was to sail May 1st)

AND I am asking for a refund,  we are looking into taking a cruise around Japan in late September or a Tokyo to Singapore

cruise next April.    Has anyone experienced a cruise around Japan with RCCL?   What was your thoughts and experiences?

Flights from Florida to Tokyo are HALF + off right now and I want to get these great prices before the airlines start increases

(already got google flight alert overnight of trip from Florida to London increasing $200).

I wanted to just fly to Tokyo, visit a few days, then go to Kyoto/Osaka and maybe Kobe BUT my husband told me he would rather

do a cruise since he "is not an adventurous eater".  I'm pretty sure we could find things to eat in Tokyo that is not sushi but he is

    being difficult. 😁.🤪

Any information you could pass along if you have taken a cruise around Japan would be greatly appreciated.   B.

  7. njhorseman we definitely don’t want to have to wait around too long for our money back.  The email NCL sent us Monday night said the form wouldn’t be available until April 13th and when I looked on that link you posted I I didn’t see it BUT I will look again.  Thanks again for your help.     B.

Check on the NCL board for experiences. Each cruise line is doing different things, so experiences on other cruise lines probably aren't relevant.

I wasn't able to find anything on the NCL board about this yet, but will keep an eye out on that board.   Thanks for your response.

  9. We just found out that our Norwegian Cruise has been cancelled; it was to start May 1st.   We do not want to take advantage of their offer to get a 125% refund in the way of a future cruise thru 2021 because the cruise we were to go on is not offered again AND we have already taken cruises with Norwegian to places that are on their future cruise list.  We want to get a refund via original payment but Norwegian says we "would get less than there 125% offer towards another cruise"    Has anyone else experienced this type of situation with Norwegian or any other cruise line?   How much do you actually get back?   We WANT our complete monetary refund.   Thank for your help!!

  10. Freyward _ Cruiser,

Thanks for this great review.  We will be on NCL Sun in May and will be stopping in this port so I appreciate information from someone who exactly was there.  Will definitely try to follow your advise and go to all these places.
