  1. New to NCL so I'm not 100% certain about what time we can get the party started. My check-in time says 9:30 but looking at the Edocs, boarding time is noon. Does this mean we're hanging out in the port until noon or will that let us on once we've provided our passports, etc.?

We just came off the Sun yesterday and of course instead of Cuba we went to the Bahamas.  Ship and staff were very nice.  No complaints.

We had the Premium Plus Beverage Package and it was great.  We had Vieuve Clicquot (sp) Champagne at the Champagne Bar.  Wonderful wines with dinner usually 1 bottle Chardonnay and 1 of Cabernet and another bottle or sometimes 2 to take with us.  All they had to do was open it and pour a little then you could take the bottle along.

We usually picked up bottles of water during the day and with meals we would get the large bottles of still and sparkling.  Also you could take one of them with you, so we always had wine back on the balcony and plenty water in the room.  There were 4 of us although my granddaughter was under age for alcohol but she was happy just to get waters.

Fresh squeezed OJ at the topsider bar.

It was definitely worth every penny.

Is the Veuve Clicquot a bottle or glass? If a bottle, are you getting 40% off with the PPB? We were fine with the regular open bar but PPB was our “free” upgrade. Now I have something to look forward to.

    Hi all!

We just booked the Sun for August 19-24 and there are no excursions listed except Key West.  I know that this ship was supposed to go to Cuba, but is now heading to the Bahamas.  Does anyone have any info on if they will provide excursions for the new ports?  Thanks!

Looks like we’ll be on the same cruise. We’re looking at a day pass in Nassau but are at a loss for Freeport/Grand Bahama.

  4. Thank you for posting. We’re taking our 12 & 16 DD’s on their first cruise. I have been struggling with how much freedom to give them. The 12 yr old is a city kid who takes public transit during the school year. Our 16 yr old is being raised in the burbs and isn’t as independent. The age difference makes it hard to enforce the buddy system. I like the idea of limiting them to main areas and avoiding corridors.

If you order virgin drinks, they are covered under the open bar, as well as sodas.

Thank you but how does this work when the girls aren't with us? ie if they're in the Splash Academy and Entourage?

  6. First time on NCL with the family. DH and I have the Open Bar package but wondering about a drink package for our daughters. We are not a soda family but want to treat the girls to the occasional smoothie or milkshake. Is it best to buy them ala carte or get them a drink package?

  7. We are sailing on the Ruby Princess April 7th, 2018. I was looking to book a "Exclusive Beach Resort Getaway" while in Puerto Vallarta. The Princess site does not show what resort thay they take you to so I called and was put on hold while the girl called th excursion desk. Well, guess what? They will not tell you where you are going! I was told it was because of the resort security. I say bull. Has anyone had this happen to them? Fork over your money then maybe we will let you know where you are going.

We're on the same cruise and plan to get a day-pass in PV on our own. If you book through Princess, at least you'll know that you can get back to the ship without issue. I'm more worried about my second language being French and trying to navigate in Spanish.
