  1. I'm not only a former teacher, I'm now on the School Board. I have taken my daughter out of school to travel all through Europe and South America and on many cruises. Ask if your district has an Independent study option. Our district does. What it means is they give him work he can do on the ship. (one time my daughter wrote a journal about our travels and calculated the number of miles we traveled each day, used a map to show where we traveled) when they come back they turn it in, they get credit and the school can claim ADA (average daily attendance) for them. A win/win for everyone:)
The money the school district gets from the state (At least here in TX) for each student day of attendance is what i suspect to be the real reason schools will not excuse family trips. The independent study option is genius, IMO. A win for all parties.
  2. As long as it's brown, wet, hot, has caffeine and I can add sugar to it...it doesn't matter what it tastes like. I'll drink it.:D
This. Upon awakening my first act is to call room service and ask for 2 carafes (coffee for 4) to wake me up. They bring it on tray with all the fixings. I'll usually get a pot of hot water too for fiancee's coffee.
  3. Great review! We were on the Breeze as well and the lady who fell ill was in the stateroom across the hall from us; pretty sure it wasn't just a broken leg from what we saw (heard it was an aneurysm).
From what I heard there were 2; the fatal aneurysm (older lady traveling with her daughter) and then a compound fracture.

Great review, very similar to my thoughts as I was on that cruise as well.
