We’ve sailed 3 times with Celebrity and once with Azamara since the restart. I’m really leaning towards Azamara. The itineraries are great, it’s more relaxed, food was great and less of a sales pitch for everything. Celebrity increasing prices for drinks, room service, etc. is making me rethink the value of their cruises.

We are doing B2B cruises on Celebrity over the next 4 weeks and did not receive such an email. This is of no consequence to us personally, since we just got second boosters 2 weeks ago. But it might be helpful for others to identify what the timing and destination of your itinerary is.
@Franken: for whatever it is worth, I also think you are misreading this. To be considered "up to date" you need to have had your last (should we call it "primary"?) dose within 180 days OR have a booster, in which case you are up to date without (currently) any expiration of your up to to date status. So you were already "up to date" whether you get a second booster or not.
Tom & Judy
Sailing to Alaska out of Seattle on May 6th. I think all of you may be interpreting it correctly. Just don’t want to be turned around at the pier because my booster was over 6 months ago. I was planning on the 2nd booster anyway so I’m just going to get it now to ensure I’m good to go.

It’s the up to date definition that is confusing me.
vaccinated within 6 months (180 days) of final dose in a primary series OR boosted. The 180 days must extend to the end of the sailing.

We received these new guidelines via email this morning. My 1st booster was end of August so greater than 180 days. Luckily I was able to make an appt for a 2nd booster this week to ensure I’m within 14 days before embarkation.
Fully Vaccinated* or Up to Date** Guests: Must present a negative Antigen test taken within 2 days prior to sailing.
Unvaccinated Guests: Must present a negative RT-PCR Covid-19 Test taken within 3 days prior to sailing and take an antigen test at the Terminal prior to boarding. The PCR and antigen test may not be taken on the same day.
*Definition of Fully Vaccinated: vaccinated with a full dose of a primary series vaccine over 6 months (180 days) prior to sailing and NOT boosted. The last primary dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to embarkation.
**Definition of Up to Date: vaccinated within 6 months (180 days) of final dose in a primary series OR boosted. The 180 days must extend to the end of the sailing. The last primary dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to embarkation.

Azamara’s website was also down. Maybe this was the final piece to the separation. I think it was originally scheduled for last month, but everything runs later than expected. We generally sail both so I’ve been dreading the day the points would no longer be reciprocal.

We just received a 6pk from eMed. Expiration date is 5/8/2023 so they will take us through our next 3 cruises. Order away!

We were 1 day past final payment so couldn’t take advantage of the elevate package perk. The increased cost would negate the OBC, but the premium beverage package would have been a nice bonus. 1 day 😞

We would prefer deck 8 as for us it’s a good location and leave the accessible suites for those that need them. Our favoured suites are 8056/58 port side N2 with walk in shower, very little noise from above.
So glad we came across your post. Just booked 8056 for our next cruise - only thing holding us back was not knowing if it had a walk-in shower. Thanks!

We choose Aqua mostly because of Blu, but do enjoy the Persian Garden on S class ships. We found out about having to make reservations on the 1st day of our Equinox sailing earlier this month so we made them for the entire sailing. It was not ideal, but we were happy to have a guaranteed hour every day that we could relax on the heated loungers. Only issues were that we couldn’t always get loungers next to each other or the guests that booked the previous hour were reluctant to leave. We would not pay $400pp even before these restrictions so you could consider a day pass with a couple of hours booked on one of your sea days. Enjoy your cruise and Congratulations!

Mine never showed up even though it had been 2 months. I had to go to guest services once onboard and they took care of it for me.

We just cancelled and applied the FCC to a new cruise during the same call. If booking directly through Celebrity, the rep should be able to have their supervisor process the FCC while you are on the phone or return your call when it’s complete. Only odd thing - I was told they would not let me cancel and move the cruise a 2nd time without forfeiting my deposit. I though this was very odd under their Cruise with Confidence program.

Thanks everyone! My niece chose the Avalon cruise mostly because of the itinerary and active excursions. Hoping I will be able to keep up with her.

Hello all,
We are taking our niece on a river cruise as a graduation gift - graduating this year, but postponing the trip to 2022. She’s interested in the Rhine and Main, but there are so many options. We’ve cruised with Viking on the Danube once and really enjoyed it, but wanted to try something different. I’ve narrowed it down to these:
Uniworld Classic Germany and Amsterdam - Amsterdam to Nuremberg
Avalon Active Discovery on the Rhine - Amsterdam to Frankfurt
AMA Waterways - Treasures of the Main & Rhine - Nuremberg to Amsterdam
What thoughts, advice and/or recommendations on the itineraries and operators can you share? I would like it to be a very memorable trip for her.
Thanks,
Michelle

Did they offer you any compensation for being downgraded to a lower category?
We're also booked in one of the infamous deck 10 Aqua's (for next year's Millennium cruise from Shanghai to Tokyo - is that the one you're on too? We liked the itinerary change, adding an overnight in Osaka) and our cabin has been updated to Guarantee since last week.
We chose the deck 10 cabin because of its location so I'm disappointed that we'll probably have to settle for a worse location than the one we booked.
No compensation since it was originally a complementary category upgrade. I called our TA and Celebrity complaining about all of the changes - we are stuck because we already purchased our air. Our sailing is this November so I'm looking to the bright side and planning our excursions.

We booked one of these A1 cabins for our upcoming Japan sailing. Got a letter from Celebrity explaining that we were being moved to a A2 cabin on deck 9 since the new cabins do not meet the standard of Aquaclass. At first we were disappointed, but after reading your post we should be happy they made the change. They had already changed our itinerary so we're wondering what's coming next.
Thanks for posting and sharing your experience!
