I am a cruising from NYC to Southampton in October to change ships for a 17 night cruise to Venice, Italy, Spain and Croatia. Then heading to Paris & London since I haven’t been there before.

Solo on NCL Getaway Sept 30 - Oct 7

 

 

 

Will be my 3rd cruise in 5 weeks...am planning nothing but down time with this great deal that included the drink package. Have visited these ports (Costa Maya, Belize, Roatan & Coz) many times, so ... I'm not even getting off the ship :-}

We've been on 5 cruises in the last 7 years. I really enjoy cruises, but my hubby says he wants to take other land vacations too. I'm told him I'd be content when we retire if we could take 2 vacations a year with one being a cruise and the other being a land vacation.

 

 

 

How many cruises do you typically take a year and are you working or retired?

The complaints that I have read about the Epic usually revolve around the odd bathrooms in the balcony cabins and the smoking in the casino. For these 2 issues... I'm in a studio so I don't care about the balcony cabins. Lol. And for the smoking in the casino it is no different than any of the other 5 ships that I have been on.

 

I went last March and I had a great time. though I do wish the ship had the waterfront like the getaway, breakaway, escape. But the pools are sooo much better on the Epic. Also the adults area at the back of the ship has a small pool which is nice. Do you have any questions that I can help with?

 

One thing, make sure to go to the studio lounge for drinks around 530, people will be gathered there every evening and we would all go to dinner together.

NORWEGIAN EPIC MARCH 3-7, 2018. This will be my second solo on the Epic. I had a blast the first time, met a lot of new friends that we all still keep in touch.

Are you in one of the solo studio rooms? I’ve booked in the Epic for October 28 and am in one. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the Epic. What are your thoughts on the ship?

@monbeck34, can't help you with specific hotels -I live here, so I have no need for hotels!- but I can mention that the concept "safety" doesn't really apply in Barcelona as the whole city is "safe", we have no gun or gang problems here. This, of course, is not to say there's no crime, after all, it's a city with 2 million inhabitants, but the sort of crime you might encounter is non-life threatening -if you catch my drift. In fact, pickpockets (and the odd mugging) is probably your "worst" potential encounter here. Jan 2018 Cunard Panama Canal Cruise

 

Prematurely made reservation/booking in May...unable to find anyone to accompany me...never been on a cruise..really want to cancel:(

Hi. My first solo trip I was really nervous. It was land. I had planned to go with some but they backed out. So there I was in London by myself. It turned out to be the best trip I’d ever had. I’m not s talkative person but I do like to chat with people who are sitting next to me. On this trip it was tours that I. Booked. I now to lots solo cruises included. To me it’s easier on the cruise because you have dinner with other people. There are also people to chat with on excursions. I hope that you don’t cancel. Take a deep breathe step back and ask yourself what is really holding you back then look at can you overcome it. Good luck

Booked 28 October 18 Norwegian Epic. I'm celebrating my 50th birthday beginning June 2018. Yes I said beginning because I'm celebrating it for a year. That's a big milestone. Why not celebrate that way. Right ! xx lol

I just returned from a cruise on the Riviera Barcelona to Rome. Your friend is correct there is no self service. It's actually quite wonderful. Staff are more than willing to answer any question about the ingredients
