  1. I was in Coronado today, and was able to watch the Westerdam head off around Point Loma and sail away to Hawaii. On my way down there, I also stopped at the port and got a photo.

The passengers were in for a chilly and windy sail away! Unusually cold and high winds today!

I’m getting on her when she comes back, 15 day Panama Canal:)19f9735b5f9993fbcacf78592daa01e9.jpg06dc984d3a7050f8618237ddffaea42e.jpg

  2. I could not be more excited, and I know that this group of fine people will celebrate with me today!

Leaving on March 9 for the 15-day Panama Canal crossing, and I have been patiently (not!) waiting for my cruise boarding docs to go live. I checked this morning and the button was green! I know it's still 49 days until the cruise, but this was another small step to getting me on the Westerdam.

So if anyone else is on this sailing, you can print your express documents today! Woohoo! It's getting closer!

  3. Exactly that! Log into your HAL account, click on already booked, then personalize your cruise. Underneath where it says how many days til your cruise, click purchase beverages. Below the alcohol and wine packages you will find “Soda Fountain Value Card.” Pay $25, and you will get $50 worth of fountain sodas. I’ve heard, however, on this board, that you’ll have trouble sometimes getting cans of soda. Can’t confirm, have never been on an HAL ship. Maybe someone with onboard experience can comment or correct me if I’m wrong.

  4. Soda cards available pre-cruise. I will have 2 waiting for my mom and me when we get on the Westerdam in March. What I like about the soda card is pay $25, and get $50 worth of soda! I usually drink 2-3 diet sodas per meal, so I should be set!
