Dawn is in Portland UK today.  Anyone on the Dawn?  Can you let us know if the issue has been resolved for the Dawn.  I am cruising on Dawn June 3 and will let our roll know how things are going.

    Tom

Yes, Tom. I’m onboard at the moment, docked in Portland - no issues with getting a drink for those with the beverage package - and it seems for those without it too (no signs up in the bars). Hope you enjoy your cruise.

Has anyone seen confirmation Dawn are getting drinks in Belfast?

But then Dawn did last week but the Star didn't a few days later.

Then again when there are no report like there were none on every other cruise line that is just them having a good time without drink.

Onboard Dawn at the moment and normal service resumed. And told that there’ll be no problem through to the end of the cruise.

Well, I DO want an olive but hate having to pay for those fancy olives with a pickle sticking out.  Sure, they're fun, but think of how much I could save if they made the folks who actually want them pay for them.  Some mornings, I would get not one but TWO of those things in my Bloody Mary.

The Bloody Mary olives are one of the main reasons I stick with NCL 😂

  4. Vested interest here. We’re due to embark Norwegian Dawn on Sunday for a UK and Ireland cruise (only two days outside the UK plus one sea day) so interested (concerned!) to read this thread. Appreciate the news from onboard the Star and believe that passengers are giving honest reports of what they’ve been told.

But… since January 2020 (when the UK left the EU) we’ve taken many cruises all over Europe including Southampton-departing cruises with Princess, MSC, P&O and Norwegian (October last year) all sailing into EU nation waters. No ban on bar service then and to the best of my knowledge, there’s been no change in either UK or EU legislation.

Won’t be the same without a sailaway Negroni so I hope it’s fixed before then…

  5. WiFi quality seems to differ ship to ship. Encore in November was exceptional, Escape last week was absolutely pointless. Remember the magic logout.com page! Any problems, the Internet desk are usually helpful - I fell asleep one night while Facebooking and told the desk manager. He very kindly gave me minutes back as it was clear I wasn’t browsing!

  6. Many thanks for the replies - helped a great deal. We’re staying for three nights but have two full days (excluding arrival day and embarkation day). Following all the advice, we’re staying in Santa Monica and a hotel near Universal (as we want to do the theme park as well as the studio tour). We’re doing a disembarkation tour of the Chinese Theatre and Walk of Stars. We may hire a car for one day to get to the Nixon Library from Santa Monica - but are considering the Reagan Museum as an alternative. Again, many thanks!!!

  7. Looking for advice from LA cruisers and people who know the area better than us. We’re flying to LAX from the UK in October, catching the Norwegian Bliss to the Mexican Riviera.

Before we board, we want to do Universal Studios, Walk of Stars, Santa Monica and a quick visit to Yorba Linda. Too much in the time we have? Any advice on central, safe places to stay? Worth hiring a car? Stay at the one hotel or move around?

    Any tips gratefully received!
