  1. Question for those that have been onboard. What is the entertainment like in the evenings, I believe there is no such thing as good and bad entertainment, it's just that different people like and dislike different things.

We like popular music from the 70's and 80's with a range of rock, dance and disco, good to have a live band but happy with a DJ on some nights. We also like comedians and magicians maybe once on each cruise.

We dislike jazz, string music or classical.

We do currently cruise main line luxury (Princess and Celebrity) and the entertainment meets our requirements. Looking to try something a bit more upmarket and know we will like the food and the staff, the entertainment is the only concern and wouldn't want to spend 2 or 3 times normal cost and be disappointed as we do like to enjoy the evenings.

    Thanks for comments.

  2. Going on Canaries cruise on Iona in February and have a couple of questions.

When are the Celebration nights, I have read people saying day 3, is embarkation day counted as day 1 or is it the first sea day. Looking to book hairdo !

Have been on Iona a few years ago and the wait time for a Costa coffee was always 30 minutes or so which was annoying, anyone cruised recently have an update on this. Would like to know for both sit down and take away. This will be one of the inputs on deciding if we take the drinks package.

  3. I am going on Iona soon and am thinking of getting the new Deluxe package as it allows 50ml measures. My question is what is the difference in service and requirements with and without a package. Do you need to sign anything if you don't have the package or just hand over your cabin card, is there any difference in waiter service with or without package.

I am aware most lines are having staffing issues and one of my real pains is waiting ages for a drink so just looking to see if having a package helps in any way.

  4. Thinking of booking Seabourn for first time and have seen some good cruises on Ovation. Note that the V1 suites on deck 5 have a metal front rather than glass. Does anyone have experience or photos of these suites to see what the balcony looks like. I have searched online and not found anything.

  5. How close is the ride share area from arrivals. Trying to understand when I can book the Uber/Lyft, would prefer not to wait until I am at the pick-up area then book and wait 25 minutes for the car. Is it possible to book when through immigration and then walk to pick-up area whilst car is travelling.

I know these things are variable and depends on arrivals terminal and how difficult to get car but wondering if there is a general answer that will give guidance.

I am arriving on BA from London.

  6. Anyone recently travelled on Uber/Lyft from MIA to Fort Lauderdale airport area. I need a transport mid week around 20.00 hours from Miami International airport to a hotel at Fort Lauderdale airport and private companies are looking for $100+. At this time of day will Uber/Lyft be lower cost.
