My travel companion is wondering if you can buy a Carnival logo travel type mug on board. What is really desired it a mug with a lid and a handle that will keep drinks hot or cold.
Thanks

is there something similar but with a handle?

It really depends on the school for the kids, some schools purposely will have a major project or important test or something right before spring break to discourage families from taking them out early for spring break.
Now as a parent I rarely had my kids pulled from school for anything. One because my kids really hated to have to do the make up work and two their education is very important. Now my kids didn't love school they just hated the extra work. Sometimes you will get lucky and they will give you the work ahead of time, but some schools made you wait til you get back, so you would have extra homework. I had one graduate high school this year and the other is going to be a junior. I say depends on the school as due to my hubby being in the military they went to school in 4 states but one state the oldest was in K and 1st in one part of the state, then the youngest was in 8th and the oldest was in 10th through 12th in the same state he went to K and 1st in.
Unless you know both parents are okay with the missed school I would talk to them about it. Personally I would wait and take the kids during their actual spring break.

Can anyone explain in simple terms exactly what a travel agent charges?
For example we did look up and decide on a cruise we wanted to take, being we are not all in the same state it was just easier to use the website. Then we each did research with talking to local travel agents to see what kind of deals they could get us. For example some times in the past people have said their travel agent got a slightly lower price or obc or whatever for them. All the travel agents we spoke to said that they had a fee of 20 per person or 100 or more flat rate for the booking. A bunch quoted the same price we saw on the website and a few even have a fee plus quoted a higher price on the same room type. It was very confusing. We did ask if the fees go towards are booking at any time, maybe once we sail or paid in full or something but we were told no every time. Needless to say booking direct with the cruise line was a lot cheaper.

if they have an international cafe they are 24/7 ,
when i think on it i can not remember eating lunch on my cruise ??
would have thought i had it but just don't remember
I know for a fact we had lunch, but I do not remember eating it or where we ate it. It was our only cruise and we did the main dining room for breakfast & dinner that I know for a fact. We also did late night pizza. But lunch I have no clue.

You don't have to do the beach, there is history, ruins, museums, hiking, lots of things he might like other than beach stuff. Also consider the submarine type things where you go under water to see the sealife without getting wet.

Per person if I prepay tips & cheers& excursions... what will they charge my credit card if I use it for sign & sail at check in? I know I have to have something either a credit card or cash, but I probably won't be charging anything to my room.

OK we have cruised once before but it was almost 10 years and my hubby handled everything money wise. This time he isn't going so it is on me to figure out. I feel more confused than I remember being last time.
I know on the ship I have the prepaid thing and I can tip as I feel needed/ deserved in addition to that.
I know if I use room service I should tip - I think 1 to 5 dollars depending on size of order?
Now we are doing an excursion in Coz with several parts I guess.
Do we tip whoever the excursion sends to transport us from the ship to the excursion?
We are first going on a boat to another semi submersible boat/sub thing... so that is the sea portion... Do you tip all the people that are workers? Im guessing we will have one or 2 people with driving the boats.
Then we are going on a short bus ride, from the reviews I think we have a driver and a guide, so again we tip these 2?
Then we go to a cocoa place, a tequila place and then some little town with shops... do we tip at the cocoa & tequila places?
And then they return us to the ship, so we again tip for that?
Oh boy this is complicated... and all these people how much do we tip them?
This excursion thing is called land & sea... its like 4 or 5 hours... through Carnival has anyone done this? Wondering how expensive the chocolate shop & tequila shop might be for bringing some home?

Carnival's Cheers includes juices, sodas, bottled waters, Honest ice tea, vitamin water, speciality coffees, milkshakes, non alcoholic frozen drinks (mocktails), frozen cocktails, wine, etc... will she drink at least 50 dollars worth of something in those categories? I probably left out something too. We are doing are research as we are leaving soon on our cruise.

Can these be used instead of cash for the S&S deposit?
-
does anyone know if you do cheers program is there still a tea charge at tea time, since teas are included now in the cheers?
-
No, just to use the app for menus and such is free.
It's $5 per device to add the chat function.
The internet packages are separate from the hub app.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Forums mobile app
thanks a bunch

OK we arent really drinkers but we are considering the cheers just because it would be so nice not to deal with paying for things all the time. The zero proof frozen drinks are listed but are the fancy alcoholic frozen drinks included as well? Like Miami Vice and such?
-
So do you need to buy the internet package to use the Hub app? I don't need the wifi for anything else and we will not need the chat as we will basically be doing everything together. Just trying to figure out if we will need the internet package and which of the 3 would be required just to access the Hub app. We basically want the fun times and dinner menu access.
Thanks.

Booked a cruise yesterday for the middle of next month. All dining times are waitlisted. Is this because of the short time from booking to sailing or what the heck?
Thanks!

Kartgv,
Between the 2 of us, in 2 different states we called or went to visit travel agents in a mall, in a small agency, in a multi agent agency and a friend's travel agent. The friend said she did pay the first couple times she used it then cuz she uses it several times a year they started waiving her processing fee.
