Dumb question. I booked a couples Swedish massage with this a couple of days ago. It only lists me as the guest and I didn’t see a place to put the name of the second person. I assume I’m all set, even though it only lists 1 person right?

I don't know but mine says the same thing so I'm guessing we shouldn't worry. :D

I did it! That was *EASY* I managed to only pay $149 for a couple's massage that could have cost up to $259! We managed to save by first, having the massage on the first night of the cruise, lowering the cost from $259 to $207. Then, I used the code VSPA20 you provided to get it down to $166. Finally, I used my gift cards that I purchased from AARP at a 10% discount... bringing my grand total out of pocket to $149! What a deal!
Plus, I had $40 left over on my gift card that went towards my fare.... I'm now officially half way to paying off our fare! I have until August to pay off the remaining balance. I wish I'd known about these AARP gift cards sooner. I could've saved almost $100 :( :( Oh well! Now I know! :)

Carnival cruises leave from a port that is only about 5 hours from my house, so we can drive and save ourselves the major expense of airfare.... The next closest competitor is nearly 8-10 hours from my house. I would like to try another brand if our budgets increase.... but for now, we're with Carnival. :)

Ugh! I'm torn. I booked it and then found out that the AARP 10% off e gift cards are back in stock. I'm thinking about canceling and then immediately booking it again with the discounted gift card to save the extra 10% off. It would save me nearly $20. What do you guys think?

I haven't been on a Carnival Cruise in ten years so.... I'm kind of confused. What is this American Table menu and why does everyone hate it so much? LOL. I see a lot of posts on the boards about how people don't like it.

I believe it is this: If a ship departs a US port and returns to a US port (doesn't have to be same port) without going to any other country, they fall under all US laws, including wages, for example.
So all those lower-paid crew members getting $25/day for a 12-hour day (i.e. barely $2/hr) or whatever would suddenly be eligible for a really big raise...
Wow! I didn't think about it like that. Thanks for the info.

I didn't think they could do CTN's anymore??? [emoji848]

I didn't know that! Why can't they do the cruises to nowhere anymore? I don't think I would want to go on one but it was still an interesting idea to me... lol :) Sorry to change the subject. Also, how terrible if someone was really stabbed on board! I wonder if it was a domestic thing? Ugh....

How exciting! We booked ours, too. A little late Valentine's gift. <3

I had the same problem with the e-gift cards. I was trying to stack the discount with the save 20% spa code that expires Saturday. :( Oh well, I guess I'll just be happy with any discounts I can get. :)

Thanks for the great advice! We are planning on doing the 50 min. couple's Swedish massage. :) What is the etiquette around tipping for spa services on the cruise?

Thanks for all the info! I appreciate everyone's input. I think I'm going to go ahead and do it. I've never had a massage in my entire life. We're going to the Bahamas on the Fantasy for our 5th wedding anniversary. We've been planning and saving for nearly a year so we're looking to really live it up. :) A massage seems like the perfect way to do that.

Depending on the time slot you choose, anyone can get additional savings. I booked a 75 minute massage that went for $160 in the evening of a port day but $145 at 4PM. Then I was able to use the 20% off to get the price down to $116. The 20% off will cover the tip!
I see an offer now to bundle three services and preorder to save 30% on the package.
I got that bundle offer too but it's only valid for select treatments and our couple's massage isn't on the list. BUT- I do plan on booking it for the first night, when it's at its cheapest - $207 vs $259. I don't want to do it on a port day because we're booked on lots of shore excursions.
I think having a massage the first night will be a fun way to wind down/relax after the stress of driving/boarding/drill, etc. I think that plus the bottle of champagne we're bringing will be a romantic way to celebrate the first night of our cruise. :)

Why the hesitation?? You can always cancel it if you change your mind.
Thanks! I didn't know I could cancel if I change my mind. I'm going to book it then! Thanks again. :)

Hey! I'm curious how often they send out codes like this? Does anyone know? We don't sail until November so I'm hesitant to book a massage that far in advance, but if there won't be anymore codes like this between now and November... maybe I should? What do you guys think? Do they send out spa codes multiple times per year or is this a rare thing? I haven't cruised in 10 years so we're really wanting to go all out and get a couple's massage. Thanks in advance!

Ensenada was a pretty scary place. I got off the boat only to turn around and get right back on... and that was 10 years ago when Mexico was relatively safer than it is now. I would personally advise against getting inebriated in a place like Ensenada!

One more question! When you cancel something, how long does it normally take to post back on your credit card? I canceled Friday and carnival's website says they issue an "instant refund" but I'm not seeing it posted to my account. I'm hoping it's just that my credit card company is slow?
