Who is V V targeted at?

Based on Scarlet Lady, i'd say

Young wealthy skinny people, with good knees to get out of low seats, who travel with little luggage and have an aversion to swimming pools

I am the antithesis of everything you listed, but I am BEYOND excited for my June cruise!!!!

  2. I'm wondering, with all the photos coming out now,  if anyone has come across a photo of the XL Sea Terrace bathroom especially the shower.  I am obsessing over this and would be deeply grateful to anyone who can help.  Please no snarky comments.  We all have our cruise idiosyncrasies.

Found this shot of the pool under construction which seems to show that the actual pool is very small compared to the wading area around it.  If you look closely on the rendering, you'll see that the pool is actually mostly a wading area. Is this the only pool on Scarlet Lady or are there more reveals to come?

Well it sounds like you have your answer then.  Yes it appears to the be bathroom.  I just started making a dummy booking for an XL Sea Terrace cabin and the description does indicate both the bathroom and cabin floor space are larger, along with this rendering.

I sure hope so.  I know everybody has different priorities but bathrooms are very important to me and I sure can't afford the suites with the marble bathrooms!  Ha ha!

This is a rendering of a standard Sea Terrace bathroom.  I don't think it's any different in an XL Sea Terrace cabin.  I believe you are getting a little more floor space in the cabin, but no difference with the bathroom than any other standard cabin.

I beg to differ.  The extra bathroom space is the reason we booked the XL.  This is a photo of the regular bathroom.  That's why I am wondering about the photo I posted since it has an extra slider on the shower.

Instead of Mardi Gras beads we can all wear (for me it’ll be fake) pearls to recognize each other. 😉

    All together now ... clutch!

I'll even wear my Grandma's real ones she willed to me!

  7. I love this thread.  I am 55 and booked for June.  Reading all of these comments makes me realize how young at heart I am (and tolerant).  The no kids policy is the icing on the cake for me, but so much else seems so exciting and fresh compared to the multitude of other cruises I have taken in the last 30 years.

I think one thing that people forgot is that when I book a land based trip, I can buy a bottle of local spirits and wine to drink in my room and often around the pool. We are highly limited in the ability to do that on a cruise ship. So the individual cost of drinks on a cruise effect us much more than any land based trip we take.

We have sail sail a few times on MSC yacht club and they include drinks in the private spaces and around the ship.  The YC allowed me to bring all my spirits bought on shore back with no questions, restocked my mini bar every day with all kinds of drinks and snacks, and offer butler delivered drinks and snacks at all times.  Given VV advertising, I expect this as standard kind of level of provided amenities and was surprised when it was only limited beverages.

I read in the FAQ that I will be able to bring 2 bottles of wine on board to my cabin as long as it is not in my checked baggage.  Plus, I believe there will be an assortment of alcoholic beverages in each cabin to start with.

  9. When I board, what deck will it be?

NCL is saying 2- 2 1/2 hours to boarding.

Really have sympathy for those still on board. Lack of customs agents seems to be a problem sometimes. It is a shame to end a great trip on such a note.

And for us starting our trip as well. This is our first NCL cruise...they have a lot of making up to do. Royal Caribbean has never put us through this hell.

  10. We had an issue with our account being closed early which set yesterday off to a bad start... No one at guest services could give us an answer as to why it had been closed, why we weren’t told, why we couldn’t buy anything on board despite being in credit, if we had been charged already or if it was just a hold, whether it had gone through or the card had been blocked or not... Annoying, wasted our time, and no real apology: poor show NCL.

When account was good to go again, and we saw that our final day at sea was a sunny one, it could only mean one thing - draaaaaanks and snapchat silliness [emoji484][emoji1373]

After a delightfully blurry few hours on deck it was time to return to our cabin to pack our cases...sob sob... We showered and, as is now customary on our last cruise night, dressed up to the nines and headed out for a few final hours of fun.

Dinner was at La Cucina; we have never been before, and I was never that bothered about going - big mistake. The food was amazing and the service phenomenal... Highly recommended. Sadly, after a straight 2 weeks of gorging, there was absolutely no room left for dessert and we passed on the (apparently legendary) tiramisu [emoji24]

    Bellinis to start...

A spot of gambling and a few drinks later and we conceded that the trip was coming to an end and headed to bed one last time...
