  1. See if you have any info on missing cruise, dates/ship/names at a min and they should be able to track it down. I had one missing from 1988, they had nothing(pre-real computers), fortunately I had my Ship Card. You shouldn't need it though...

We had an 11 night cruise back in 2000...the website used to show it as a 1 point cruise and then an adjustment of only 8 nights in 2011 when they changed the program. We have been trying to get the additional 2 nights, or at least an explanation on why others get the full credit while others don't...still waiting on an answer. We realize that 2 points isn't that big a deal but now its a matter of making them be consistent.

  2. We've been on a couple cruises over the last 8 months and while there were folks out there trying to drum up some business, we didn't find them obnoxious or rude. On our very first cruise we were in the MDR with a table of 5 other couples and had an absolute blast. Because of this, we never thought of eating anywhere else. Last October on Liberty, we had a couple at our table the first night that were incredibly annoying and an absolutely horrible waiter and assistant...we were actually on the lookout for specialty restaurant deals. Then in February we were on the Grandeur and loved the other two couples at the MDR table and never considered eating anywhere else. I guess we look at those out making offers as possible lifesavers depending on the company at the table.

    Just our two cents worth.

  3. Any feedback would be helpful. Going on Liberty on Nov. 12. Arriving in Houston (Hobby) the day before. Was considering using Uber to go to Galveston but was concerned with the return and what time to schedule it for or is it just easier to use one of the shuttle services? Thanks.

We just went on Liberty at the beginning of October. We flew into IAH and did an uber down to Galveston. With tip it was less than what the cruise bus would have been but a little more than what the shuttle would have been. But we didn't have to wait for the shuttle (it would have been about an hour and a half wait). On the way back, we did the cruise bus which worked well since we didn't have to stress about finding an uber and all of that stuff.

The only issue we had was the uber from the hotel to the ship because it is not a cruise friendly area so we sat at a standstill for about 45 minutes. Just make sure the driver knows to go through town to avoid the traffic.

Of course this is just our $.02 worth

  4. Ship - Liberty

    Deck - 10

    Stateroom # - 1366

    Stateroom Category – Junior Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? – Yes...for the most part. We did hear deck chairs being moved around but nothing that anywhere close to irritating. There were quite a few kids on this cruise and we could hear them running through the halls up to about 11pm.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No.

Balcony View - No obstructions whatsoever. We had two chairs, a table and two loungers.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Seemed to be normal size for the class.

Was wind a problem? - We didn't think it was a problem.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - We had one issue with the toilet overflowing but that was taken care of quickly and didn't have any other issues.

Any other comments? - This was our first experience in a Jr Suite and it met our expectations. The balcony was our favorite part and look forward to our next experience.

  5. The Mayor of Houston has said that IAH and HOU are operational, but not to commercial flights. (I do not know what it will take for commercial flights to operate.)

The FAA is working with the airlines. United and Southwest have been allowed to operate humanitarian flights into the airports to bring water, shelf stable food and medical supplies. They have also been getting crews into the airports to operate aircraft out with anyone that was stranded at the airport.

Right now they are anticipating some flying to resume at noon on Thursday the 31st...

  6. Because the airlines lie when they report them?

They don't really lie but they are giving you a little misleading information. I used to work in a city where we sent our first departure out at a 99% on time rate. Every three months or so, they would change the flight number of our first departure and give "our" on time rate to another city and we would get one that was usually in the high 60's or 70's. After three months when we had it up to a decent on time percentage, the flight numbers would change again.

Just because the airlines say that a flight goes at a certain on time percentage, it is usually associated with the flight number...at least that is how it used to be a few years ago.
