Too bad. I was looking forward to saluting the portrait of his lordship in the starboard corridor across from the Wheelhouse this Oct but the Panama cruise was cancelled.
Maybe next year???!!!

We were on the Coral on Panama Canal cruise and enjoyed every minute.

Very interesting ... On the Princess.com website, Coral Princess does not appear on the calendar anywhere from October 2021 until December 2022, inclusive. Her last cruise listed is September 2021, end of the Alaska season.

Does anyone know anything about Coral Princess in Winter 2021-22? She is our favorite ship and is not on the calendar from October 2021 and onward. We had reservations on her for South America on December 3, 2020 that was canceled by Princess😔

Beautiful words and beautiful video. Thank you!

Hoping that all will be well and we'll be able to sail! Thanks very much for your post.

No further Coral Princess cruises have been canceled beyond the Alaska cruise season. We are in the same boat as you.
Thanks for your optimistic post! Looking forward!

Don't know if this is a possibility for you, but Coral Princess from Santiago (San Antonio) to Buenos Aires departing December 3 includes a total solar eclipse on December 14. Ship is almost sold out but there's a very popular Roll Call for the cruise with lots of private excursions being arranged in almost all the ports. If we can help with more information, email me at Julie.ginger.pepper@gmail.com
Happy travels!

Sure.. be happy to. The only way this worked is because our ship itinerary had two days in B.A., with an overnight. The only bad thing that happened was that due to some port changes, our ship was forced to leave early the second morning, so we missed our day in B.A. itself.
It was not all that difficult. I checked flights and airline reviews and ended up booking flights with LATAM. The airport used for these local flights is not all that far from the cruise port docks. We flew out early in the morning (to IGR - Puerto Iguazu on Argentine side) and arrived back in the evening (we had dinner at a place in town after completing park touring). That part is not all that difficult as long as you can find suitable schedule for your day.
Next, we hired a guide (4 of us went together) from Tours By Locals. He was fabulous - Francis A Barros. Sorry, the TBL website seems to be down for maintenance this morning or I would look him up to see if still working there. Very nice young man with a very comfy large van. He met us at the airport and whisked us over to the park. He knew exactly where to be for lines and which order to tour the park to avoid crowds. We were escorted around to all the major sites on the Argentine side - not rushed at all, but very efficient. We did the major walks and saw everything you could.
There is no time to go to Brazil side as well, considering flight times, but the Argentine side is spectacular anyway. We did not elect to do a boat ride down in the river. We all felt our one-day experience was well worth it and I am sure we wouldn't have experienced it nearly as well or as much without the guide. Francis was with us the entire day, including dinner at a local hotel where he arranged for us to eat, and returned us to the airport in time for the return flight. We did not arrive back at the ship until nearly midnight.
The guide cost in 2018 was $210 ($105/couple - excellent value!). The flights cost us $708/couple, booking ahead of time. Only other expense was the park admission and food/drink. This was WAY less than booking a Princess Tour (not even sure they offer a same-day), but it was much less than booking a tour with a third party for an all-inclusive price.
There are lots of tours and guides options for you at TBL website. This is a link to Francis' tour: https://www.toursbylocals.com/IguassuFallsFromArgentine-PrivateTour
Thank you very very much for all your detailed information. We will be on the Coral Princess next December, also with an overnight in Buenos Aires after 15 days from San Antonio to Buenos Aires. I'm also familiar with ToursByLocals and in fact will be using them again in The Netherlands in May where we will attend a two-week classic music festival. I will check to see if your guide is still listed.
Again, many thanks and I will try to copy your Itinerary for BA - Iguazu - BA.

IIRC, ships to B.A. dock in a commercial port and they shuttle you out to the exit. It is not like Port Everglades with scattered terminal access. Besides, the taxi drivers know where the ships are better than you do. If you do some searching with Google on B.A. cruise port, you will find info. I did this back in 2018 as we were scooting off to the airport to fly out to Iguazu Falls for the day. Otherwise, try asking your driver where he/she meets passengers. Perhaps they will have a sign with your name?
Hi!
Please let me know how you arranged Iguazu Falls for the day from BA. We will be on the Coral next December and would love to do that on our full day docked in BA. Many thanks!

Check in Toursbylocals.com and "Search" in Salvador Do Bahia.

Will definitely let her know and many thanks for all your help. We have used TBL in many places and enjoyed excellent guides!

Wow! Thanks!
-
Thanks and will definitely check on TBL

If you can find contact information for Elisabet in BA please post. Thanks!

Patrick Watts does excursions to Volunteer Point to see the King Penguins. If he still has places for November, his prices are much better than with the cruise lines directly. We've reserved with him for December 2020. His email is Pwatts@horizon.co.fk

What tour did you take to Iguazu Falls for one day? Interested for next December. Many thanks!

We spent 4 nights in BA but one full day we flew to/from Igusau falls. Great site and well worth seeing either in one long day or overnight.

In the city center is a beautiful park named Planten an Blomen with beautiful displays including a Japanese Tea Garden. Every evening in the summer at 10 p.m. is a wonderful illuminated fountains performance with music. All this is without cost. We will be there this week before boarding our cruise to Norway and the North Cape.

Thank you for these tips! Did you by any chance depart from Steinwerder - if so, we would love to hear how you got to and from Hamburg. We have a train to catch on the way back and wondered if taxis take 4 people with carry on luggage or you need a prebooked
Mini van. I hear this particular cruise terminal is not yet well connected for public transport!
We have cruised once before on NCL trom New Orleans to Mexico and loved the ambiance onboard. As suggested on the post above, you may want to consider dinner reservations if you plan to eat at popular times. In any case, have a wonderful cruise!

Thank you! Have you booked other shore excursions as well?
Yes, we have registered for Herdal Mountain Farm (Geiringer), Full Day to A (Lofoten Islands), Trsnsfer to North Cape, Path of 5he Trolls (Alesund) and Best of Norway (Bergen).
We will be a group of 8 family and friends and most of us are registered for most (although not all) of these excursions. Hope to meet you onboard!
