  1. you will love that suite. we had that Suite 3 years ago on the Sun.it was are second time in that suite. I wish every ship had that suite but i think it is only on the Sun. The Sun also has a great Tapas restaurant that is free. I think the Sun is the only ship that has that also.

I will be on the Jewel in 3 days in a 2 bedroom suite.

    Happy cruising

  2. Hi Net33,

My first cruise was on M.S. Skyward June 13th 1987. I met my current husband the first nite on that cruise. Then we honnymooned on the M.S. Starward on 10/1/88. I remeber back then when the ship took off we threw streamers off the side of the ship & they had the pool filled with ballons with a net covering them. When we the ship took off the baloons were released. Back then we had camers that used film and i took 12 rolls of pictures thinking it would be my only cruise. i did not make very much money back then and i had a girlfriend that work for a travel agency that got us a great deal. that cruise changed my life. We have been taking cruises every other year since 1987

  4. I am in a two bedroom suite and have Platinum status and i booked last year in Oct. for our April 4th - 11th cruise. I would be receiving the UBP , UDP & $300.00 on board credit if i booked this month. I called NCL and so did my TA. NCL is giving me nothing. The only thing they said is if cancell and re-book the Suite the Suite would be more expensive than what we origonaly paid for it so it would not be worth it.

  5. Hi Lawbird,

Same thing happended to me. They told me i would have to cancel then re-book our Suite at a higher price. I guess if the ship is not sold out they give really good deals to get the cabins sold. Dosen't always pay to book early. This will be our 13th NCL Cruise and we are platinum members which does not matter :(

  6. This is from the NCL website.

looks to me like they automasticaly charge your credit card for the service charge with your final payment ??

" If you have not made final payment this will be included in your final payment amount or if final payment has already been made we will require full payment at the time it is added."

    thank you

  7. Thank you, i am sailing on the Jewel on April 4th thru the 11th. I just heard back from my TA who called NCL and they would not grandfater me in. We have an SC Suite, it would have been a great deal for us. My TA said our room we booked went up $900.00 so i guess we do not get the great deal. So much for booking early. We booked last Audust. :(:(

  8. Cruising has changed my life also. In June 1987 i took my very first cruise on the Nowreigan Star with a girlfriend. I met my husband there on the first nite and we were inseprable. It was his first cruise too. We got married in Sept. 1988 and have been cruising ever since. My husband always tells everyone that it is the most expensive cruise that he has ever been on. We still cruise and have one booked on the Jewel for April 2015 and are taking our DD SIL and 2 grandsons

  9. My DH and i have been in Suites in at least 6 different cruises. We love the suites, not just for the perks. We love the big cabins. We stayed in an Aft Suite on the Sun and it has a livingroom area and a seperate bedroom area and a wonderful bathroom with a wirlpool tub and a hugh wrap around balcony. I think just being in the large suite makes it well worth paying the extra money for. MY DH and i are booked in an SC 2 bedroom family suite on the Jewel April 2015 and cannot wiat. Just MHO

  10. 5. What are the taxi prices between the airport and the cruise terminal?

    Yellow Cab Houston

George Bush Intercontinental Airport to the Bayport Cruise Terminal is approximately $110 - $125 (approximately 1 hr / 45-50 miles depending on route)

Houston Hobby Airport to the Bayport Cruise Terminal is approximately $70-$75 (approximately 30 min / 20-25 miles depending on route)

    Pasadena Taxi

George Bush Intercontinental Airport to the Bayport Cruise Terminal is approximately $100 (approximately 1 hr / 45-50 miles depending on route)

Houston Hobby Airport to the Bayport Cruise Terminal is approximately $50 (approximately 30 min / 20-25 miles depending on route)

  11. Good Morning DKcruiser10,

thank you for your tip. sounds like an excelent idea, we will be traveling from the San Francisco area to the Hobby airport in April 2015 with myself,DH, DD, SIL and 2 grandsons. Would any body know how it works with children in taxis regarding small children. Our gransons will be 7 and 4 when we go n this cruise. I do not know about car seat laws with taxis ?? Any help from anyone.

    thank you

  12. My DH DD SIL & 2 grandsons are booked on the Jewel out of Houston 2015. My DH and i are booked in an SC Suite which is a 2 bedroom family suite and is awesome & we booked a insde cabin acroos the hall from us for my DD SIL & 2 grandsons. If you could afford it that is what you should check into. The SC on the Dawn is between mid ship and foward so your niece should not have a problem with the motion sickness. We have done 14 cruises with NCL starting in 1987 when i met my DH and probably 8 of the cruises were in suites. Suites on NCL are the best. We went on a Alaska princess cruise last September and had a suite & we did not get the service and attention that we get on NCL. We love the freestyle concept that NCL has.

    Happy cruzin

  13. Karlie1,

thank you very much for the info. I will by flying in from Northern California next April to Hoppy airport for a cruise out Bayport. I will be flying down with my DH, DD SIL & 2 young grandsons. I know that it is a long way off but i like to be prepared and know what we are doing. I have been searching for posts on CC to get ideas on how we are going to get from the airprt to the hotel to the ship. Sounds like your plan will work well for us.

thank you again for the info
