Wow, that surprises me! I was able to drop the water soluble paper box with no issues, maybe the officer was sketchy about it because it was an urn? I was happy to not to have to worry about my mother's ashes in the air. I'm glad it worked out for you. I was very touched by the beautiful portfolio and letter they gave me to commemorate the occasion.
That is what we bought, the water soluble paper box and bag. It may have been a new officer or the location perhaps, but it worked. I agree about the letter. My son already has plans for a tattoo of the longitude and latitude (he has a long wait...lol).

I am sorry for your loss. I am not sure about the flowers. However, I just scattered my husband's ashes last month. I, too, purchased a biodegradable urn. However, the environmental officer did not allow anything into the ocean except for the ashes. It was a slight adjustment from what my son and I had prepared for, but it worked out. Overall, Carnival did a wonderful job and it was the right choice for us.

After the changes to door decorating, I did the same thing and ordered the Vistaprint Car Magnets. I do take command strips to use for nonmetal doors. Four work perfectly for each sign. We can get three signs on the door pretty easily. I haven't had any issues, yet.

Thanks for the review. I have been enjoying it, because my next cruise will be on the Splendor and after reading I see that it is the same cruise as you. My mom will also be going with me. I hope you enjoy yourself again.

In the past, we used foam sheets that we decorated to hang as a door decoration. Currently, as magnets are considered safe, we created our signs using car door magnet templates from Vista Print. This allows us to use our signs on magnetic and nonmagnetic doors. We use command performance strips to hang them on nonmagnetic doors. On a long hallway, it is easy to spot.

My last cruise out of Jacksonville was Thanksgiving 2015. When I prepaid, I was given priority parking. They did have golf cart shuttles, as well.

In the past, we have always put foam decorated signs on our door. After the Carnival email, I looked for approved decorations. After searching and not finding anything, I thought outside the box. Since magnets are allowed, we created and individualized car door magnets for our signs. We purchased the paper size, and they were reasonable in price. We will see how they are received when we next cruise.

One thing that we did when my son was little was let him take a string backpack with beach/sand toys. He was responsible for picking the toys to take and carrying the backpack. It allowed him to entertain himself while I could sit and relax in a chair. It did take up suitcase space, but it was well worth it. He is a teenager now and is responsible for carrying our snorkel gear now.

I totally loved the Drybar. On our nine-day cruise, I booked two appointments. As soon as I walked in, I was asked what if I wanted to something to drink and said yes, they went and got my glass of champagne. During my first visit, I was originally going to have a sleek look. However, looking through the menu, I changed my mind and got curls. They lasted loosening over the next two days. My next visit, I added a keratin treatment and got my glass of champagne. I did go smooth, and it lasted four days. I have pretty thick hair, and it is past my shoulders. I paid about $55 for the blowout and styling. The keratin treatment was about the same. It is made my hair softer and faster to blow dry. I would do it again if I had the opportunity.
