  1. They have hamburgers, hotdogs, pasta salad (it's warm...) and brownies. Not particularly good. The Island buffet may be better- depending on the lines. It's better if you go as soon as it opens. Or wait until 2-ish and go back to the ship for the Buffet upstairs.

  2. Starboard. Usually 2 shows. Both different. Fun to watch from the island itself. They have a great beach party with bonfires, music, dancefloor and chairs set up. Times will be listed in the Daily. There are many Youtube videos of the Lighthouse show if you want to get a sneak peek of what it is like.

  3. The Champagne Bar has its own unique drink menu. Many different champagnes, of course, but some very interesting champagne cocktails, too. The Sky Lounge free canapes are somewhat hidden around the corner of the bar in a glass front case. Bartender will serve. Find and use the Panoramic elevators midship that go up/down outside. Goes all the way to Lido. Very few people know/use them.

Currently on Divina since 18th out of Port Canaveral - have heard the following four night is becoming a five night and the three night is cancelled - have been told they hope to be able to get into Port Canaveral on the 30th as opposed to 29th but it’s wait and see. We are on a B2B and will stay on.

I am on the 25-29th with you. Did someone onboard tell you that? Just rumor? The Group for this cruise is dying to know what you heard... Most of us hope for the 5th day.!

  5. A well-hidden secret on the Meraviglia is the 'Panoramic Lift' midship. Goes from Deck 5 (Lobby) all the way up to Deck 15 or 16. Smaller glass elevator that travels up the outside of the ship. Hardly anyone ever on it. Beats waiting with the crowds at the multi-elevator stations. I think Seaside has one all the way in the back.

  6. Everything I search for in August is now showing 'Sold Out'. Was bookable last night. I have (had) an August 15th reservation on the Sun. Glitch on my end? The September cruises are still bookable, though. Maybe they are just extending the 'Pause' for 1 month? Anyone heard anything?

  7. Call right at their opening (Eastern time!) so no long 'hold'. SOME agents know what you are talking about. I had to call a few times until an agent knew what to do while I was on the phone. (Others had tried to tell me the credit would appear within 24 hours- but of course never happened). Your 'voucher' # is your original Booking #. The agent will contact the Supervisor- who will verify that you cruised during the Ocean Cay delay. My credit appeared on my September '20 booking within 5 minutes. Keep trying- worth it!

Its nice to see that it has worked for someone!  I have made 4 phone calls and emailed  the voucher twice.  Still no success. How long did it take to show up on your booking details online?  Was it before you got off phone with agent?  My final payment is in less than 2 weeks time is running out!

Yes, credit appeared within 2 minutes. Good luck! It will happen while you are still on the phone. Don't let them tell you the 24 hour business...

  9. Success!  After 3 phone calls I was able to have my 20% discount applied to a future cruise. Never did receive the elusive 'voucher'. First agent said it would be applied within 24 hours. Never happened. Today I gave 2nd agent the same information, she asked me to hold for 2-3 minutes (silent hold)- waited 30 minutes and then I hung up...  Called back, explained to the 3rd agent what I wanted, gave him the original Booking # of the cruise I missed Ocean Cay and the Booking # of one of my future cruises. He called a supervisor, all done within 5 minutes. Was told the Supervisor needed to verify the date of missing Ocean Cay. So it can be done (with some frustration). Try calling 1st thing in the morning Eastern time- just as they open.

  10. Watch the dates of the negative reviews. Yes, they had some challenges when they first came over- just not understanding American cruisers. Don't pay attention to anything older than 1 year. More positive reviews lately. They are learning... I do hope they don't Americanize everything- I enjoy the slight European atmosphere...Though, do wish for better Trivia.

  11. Just off the Meraviglia 4 night. MDR food was good- though if it lacked anything, it was seasoning. The only thing I didn't care for was the Gnocchi in cream sauce with walnuts. The Lasagna on Italian Night was great. Different, very meaty. Wish they would put that on the Everyday 'Classics' menu. One of my tablemates got the Osso Buco on Italian Night- said it was the best he has ever had.

  12.    I spent most of last Thursday at the pool (off the Mariner). Great day. I got off the ship at about 8:15 with the 1st wave- VERY important. Had the pool pretty much to myself for 2 1/2 hours. Then people started pouring in from the ship. By 11:15 every chair was taken. People were roaming all over looking for loungers. By 11:30 there were a few single loungers left here and there. People started piling their stuff on the pavement while they went in the pool. I saw groups of 8 using 1 lounger as a 'base'. I sat on the left side of the bridge near the 'water loungers'. I am also sensitive to music (just noise to me) so I always carry foam earplugs. Toned down the music so I could read.

There were lots of drink waiters in bright pink shirts taking orders. Swam over to the swim-up bar area. Very busy by 11am- 3 deep, louder.

Lots of umbrellas, free. Every 2 loungers had an umbrella in between. Some had small tables in between, too. The umbrellas are in a weighted base so they can be re-positioned for shade, as needed. We did not see any table/chair combos- I would have preferred that.

About noon I walked over to the Snack Shack just behind the pool. Chicken sandwiches (more like a big flat chicken nugget), burgers, fried mozzarella sticks, french fries, funnel cake- all from a walk-up window. I much prefer this to the Island 'BBQ' stations at other 'private islands'. I've been told the larger Chill Grill has tacos and grilled chicken, too. Even a portobello mushroom sandwich. On my list for next time.

Took a quick look at the beach over there. I saw some empty chairs here and there. Clear water, no waves at all.

  13. My friends and I booked a cooking class with Cozumel Chef. First, Josephina has you look through her cookbooks for things you want to prepare. Then you will walk a couple of blocks to the neighborhood open-air market to buy the ingredients for your chosen dishes. Back to her home to prepare everything- then the feast! Many dishes- even homemade tortillas. My friends did the cooking- I was a non-cooking guest. Went to the market with them and then she invited me to sit in her backyard garden for 2 hours while they cooked- then was invited back in for the wonderful lunch. Can't wait to do this again-this time as a 'chef' at her home.
