  1. Good afternoon,

My partner and I are looking to book the Carnival Panorama in either October or November.  We will be flying to/from Toronto to Lax.  What time is the earliest flight we should be looking at flying home after the cruise?  Air Canada has a direct flight at 120pm then another one at 1030pm....I would prefer to take the 120 flight but am concerned it doesn't leave much time.

    Any thoughts? Thank you

  2. Hi everyone!  🙂

My partner and I have just booked a cruise on the Carnival Splendor for November 2021, travelling from Toronto Canada.  I have a few questions regarding the ship....I have looked everywhere and can not find what the power outlets are on the Splendor...can anyone tell me if they are Australian or North American?  Is the ships currency in Australian dollars?  And lastly, which port out of Sydney does the Splendor sail from?

We will be staying in Sydney for 5 or 6 days precruise and am wondering about hotel recommendations...is there an area that is central for tours/excursions as well as dining within walking distance?

    Thank you for any advice!

  3. Good afternoon,

For the past month, I have been looking at a few different cruises from Brisbane to the South Pacific on the Radiance of the Seas.  There were a few different itineraries that I was looking at between November 2021 and February 2022.  I went on Royal Caribbeans website this morning, and all of those cruises have disappeared.  Now I can't find any of them on any other travel website either.  Have all these sailing on the Radiance been cancelled??

  4. WOW!!  You are all amazing!  Thank you so much for all your input.

We were originally wanting to sail in February 2022, but then read about cyclones.  So we decided to sail in November instead.  (been there, done that with a couple caribbean trips during hurricane season).  I really don't want to book this trip, and with so much excitement and anticipation, have it cancelled due to a cyclone.  But I just read that it is possible for a cyclone to hit in November as well.  Is that true?

I am sure with all my research and planning, I will have a lot more questions!  Thank you again for all this great information!!!

    🙂

  5. Thank you so much for your reply!  I did read through their post and there is some great information!  Thank you!

I would still like to know if there is a place in/near Sydney that is similar to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

As far as budget, I am thinking around $350 AUS a night but would go higher if we needed to.

    Thanks again!

  6. Good afternoon everyone.

I am just starting to research cruises from Australia to the SP, sailing in November 2021 (if covid allows us to, of course).  My girlfriend and I are from Toronto Canada and this will be our first time on that side of the world.  We have travelled multiple times throughout the Caribbean, the mainland US and Hawaii.

We have narrowed down our options to two cruises....

-10 night Royal Caribbean from Brisbane to Noumea, Lifou, Mystery Island, Port Vila and Luganville

    OR

-9 night Carnival from Sydney to Noumea, Lifou, Mystery Island and Mare

We are leaning towards Brisbane because I would really like to visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.  I would absolutely love to hold a Koala and feed kangaroos.  Is there is a place like that in/near Sydney?

I am also wondering what areas in Brisbane and Sydney should I be looking at for hotels?  We will not have a car and plan to take some tours during the days, but would like to be within walking distance of some restaurants/night life for the evenings?

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Erin

  7. Good morning,

I read that Carnival will be debuting her new ship and sailing through Europe in 2018...Does anyone know when the sailings will be released? I tried a search but couldn't find anything.

    thanks,

  8. Just came back from our cruise out of San Juan. We stayed 2 nights pre cruise at the Intercontinental Resort in Isla Verde and 2 nights post cruise at the El San Juan Resort.

I really liked the Intercontinental. I read some concerning reviews prior to our stay, but I didn't have the same experience. We found the hotel to be beautiful, the staff were great and the location was amazing.

The El San Juan is directly beside the Intercontinental. The staff were awesome, the lobby was impressive, but we weren't too impressed with our room. We stayed in the Casitas, the room itself was nice, but the bathroom was totally grungy and filthy.

The area around both these hotels were great. Lots of restaurants, the beach is beautiful and shops are within walking distance!

  9. We have stayed at the Intercontinental before and it is very nice. LaConcha is closer to the old town, that is the only reason I prefer it. But I'll take whatever priceline give me. :)

    Susan

I've been watching Hotwire to try and get LaConcha for our post cruise hotel. Haven't stayed there, but I checked it out the last time I stayed in San Juan and it looked beautiful!

  10. What were the amenities listed and how many stars? Thanks

It was a 4 star listed in Isla Verde. It has a 95% guest rating. I don't remember all the amenities listed, but I know it had resort, beachfront, restaurant, pool, fitness, casino, spa....

From what I understand, there are only 3 4star hotels in Isla Verde. The Water and beach Club (which lists as a boutique hotel), El San Juan and The Intercontinental. A friend of mine received El San Juan hotel and her amenities were similar to the Intercontinental, but it only had an 80% guest rating. So I was thrilled when I seen this one listed, but with a 95% guest rating...I was pretty sure it was the Intercontinental before I booked it!

    Very pleased!!!

  11. Good afternoon, I have a question to all those Hotwire users...I searched for a hotel for Jan 23-26 for San Juan, and was hoping to stay in the Condado area. I originally searched for 2 adults (as there are only 2 of us) and was given a hotel option, which by using better bidding I believe is the Conrad Condado.

But then I search for 2 adults, 1 child and was given a totally different option, which I believe may be La Concha.

My question is....if I were to book option 2 (2a 1c), will I have a problem during check in when they find out there is only 2 of us?

I've stayed at the Conrad, and I really enjoyed my stay, but I really would prefer to stay at La Concha

    Thanks

    Erin

  12. I completely understand erin...i think we picked the wrong time to be trying priceline for San Juan. We are a couple months too late for getting a good deal. I think I am going to go with hotwire and buy a room that by all counts is the OSJ Sheraton per betterbidding dot com. Its still a good bit less than the full price of the room...269 vs 184.

Well after trying all week for my dates of March 11-13, I finally decided to try a 3.5 star. I got the Radisson Ambassador for $120. I was hoping for a 4 star or resort level or that price, but that didn't seem to work. I'm just glad that I finally got a hotel now.

Good luck Amosmoses33 on your bidding! :)

  13. I just booked my mom in a balcony on the Lido Deck.

Was there much noise? Did people using the stairs bother you?

Any issues at night (with noise)?

We had no issue with noise at all. The first night was just a little loud, but after that...nothing!!! We were very close to the elevators and stairs, so I was a little worried at first. It turned out to be a wonderful location! :D

  14. We didn't feel much motion at all. The only time we did was when we were leaving San Juan, and it was rocky everywhere! Other than that, we didn't feel a thing!

Again, I loved the location and being on the Lido deck was so convienent for everything!

Have lots of fun on your cruise (I know you will)

    Erin

  15. We just returned home from the Victory late last night....this was our first Carnival cruise, but our 5th cruise overall. This was a very relaxing cruise for us (even though it was port intensive). We stayed in cabin 9262 on the Lido deck...couldn't beat the location!!! Just a few pics...

  16. Good afternoon everyone...:D

We are leaving at the end of this week for our Victory cruise....we booked this cruise a year ago and are sooo excited that it is almost here!!!

For all the recent Victory cruisers...does anyone know what movies they are currently playing on the Seaside Theatre?

    Thanks,

    Erin

  17. Good evening,

erries, I am soooo jealous that you are leaving on saturday. Like I said in my last post, we were just on the Liberty last week doing the western.....and I miss her already. We had sooo much fun and the weather was perfect. It was hot and sunny every day. Have lots of fun and I hope your weather is as great as ours was!

Thank you ChristieNJ....the next 6 months are going to fly by quickly. And I think the planning and preparations before the cruise are almost as much fun!
