We just did a 14 night cruise on the Rotterdam, and I had the same concerns as you do. They were unfounded. I posted a more detailed review of the ship, if you are interested.

We were at Hemingway’s in February. It was awesome! No need to rent a cabana. The beach loungers never filled up. No fee but you have to spend $25/pp to use the chairs. Food and service were both excellent. It is mainly an Asian menu, but they do offer a few standards like burgers. We had mostly finger food - tempura, summer rolls, etc. Hemingway’s is a cruiser’s dream spot! BeautIful, uncrowded beach.

We were on the first 14 days of the same cruise as Adoptionmsw. I agree the Rotterdam is in good shape, with no signs of the problems reported out of dry dock. I submitted a more detailed review of both the ship and the cruise, but it has not been posted yet.

We had a good experience on a recent cruise. The only odd thing was that dry cleaned items (like a sports coat) came back folded. We did mark the hangar option (as opposed to folding).

I haven’t seen anything about first night free for Neptune Suites. It is not listed among the suite perks.

Yes I will do a review when we get back. So far, the ship looks very nice.

Sorry for starting a new thread. I know there have been previous posts about this but I could not find them. I just wanted to let interested cruisers know the sailing we are on (Rotterdam) is offering a 25% discount on first night specialty restaurants. This is for all passengers.

We just boarded. Looks like new furniture. I tried to attach pictures but got errors. I’ll try again later.

It just has to average out to $25/pp. I don’t know for sure, but I think it’s really $25/per lounger, so if your kids don’t use a lounger, the $25 would not apply to them.
