  1. If you can book directly online through the tour company, do. Example, in Bora Bora I booked a jeep safari tour on my own for $82US per person. The exact same tour booked on board would have cost $229US per person. On or awesome jeep tour we're others from the cruise ship who paid the higher price. (Tupuna Mountain Safari, Bora Bora) I highly recommend them.

We are in the same group as you. First time traveling with this group and first time cruiser. Really looking forward to this trip as this is the first year of my wife's retirement. All I know is that high 80's and rain is better than 20s and snow.

I'm looking forward to meeting you, along with LindaLiz (another who is with the Belling group) who posted on the Roll Call Forum.

  3. Thanks CoColab....I've never seen that picture good to know.....Warm rain isn't going to spoil her morning coffee..

We're on the same cruise as you....hopefully we'll meet on board. We're coming from Milwaukee with a local radio station group. So there will be a lot of us beer, brat and "cheeseheads" on board.

I'm Mary and hubby is Abs

  4. We have a room with a Veranda Room on Deck 9....Is there coverage to be out on the Veranda during the rains?

My wife enjoys her morning cup of coffee./OJ on the Veranda....that was her bday present from me but I forgot to consult the rain gods.

..... let's see if it plays out this way.

We' in a veranda room also but on deck 7. I hope this picture I found of a veranda room opens up for you. Looks like there is some coverage.

  5. Always less, even though I’m stuck where I am. I have a backpack to carry my camera, lenses, flash, iPhone, and my sunglasses (prescription). Top section has my kindle, bose over the ears noise reduction headphones, passports, special therapeutic long travel socks, and ankle socks to slip over those to walk around the plane in. A little baggy in an easy to get to side pocket with any pills I need to take. That’s enough, that’s all. I’d check my camera but the baggage handlers or inspectors would steal them.

Everything else gets checked. I’m not one of those travelers that insist upon having all their worldly belongings in a suitcase in the cabins with them.

Thank you. This is why I asked the question. I tend to travel light, just a back pack carry on. I didn't want to be on a long flight and wish I would have packed something I didn't think of.

  6. I also posted this onTripAdvisor: I thought I would ask here as well since I am coming to French Polynesia for a cruise.

Those of you who have done this flight (LAX-PPT) what are your suggestions for a comfortable flight in economy class on Air Tahiti Nui. We are flying the red-eye both ways.

Based on your experience...I would like ideas on what to bring......comforts to put in my carry-on...toothbrush, eye mask, slippers, etc.....what did you bring or wish you would have brought. Thank you.
