That's a relief! At least we'll have that! Our cruising days revolves around eating, going to the gym, fitness classes and the spa, with most of our time spent in the thermal suites. We were sat around last night wondering what we're going to do on a 14 day voyage! Holland America has cancelled Lincoln Centre Stage - that was the only entertainment we enjoy. We were left a bit stumped, to say the least.

    The saunas are segregated though.

We just found out for our upcoming 14 day transatlantic cruise that the hydropool is being repaired. HAL cancelled our Thermal Suite passes (refunds have not come through yet). This is a HUGE letdown for us and has put a real dampener on the entire trip. Can we assume the free sauna is available still?

The men's and women's free sauna is totally separate from the spa area so I would expect them still to be open.

Thanks for the info.  I think my wife and I will be going on NCL Jade sometime soon and it looks like it a has a similar layout.  I do enjoy the cruise ships that have non-mixed steam rooms and saunas.  Some  ships have only co-ed saunas that require swimsuits, (which is uncomfortable, IMO).  Do you mind me asking how much you had to pay for the thermal pass?

The Jade has a 6 man hot tub instead of the single ones in mens atea.

So tell me guys...if you end up on a ship with only co-ed sauna or steam....what do you end up doing? [Aside from not booking that ship...which is what I am going to get a dozen replies saying! LOL] If you are going specifically for the theraputic benefits than paying for the thermal spa might be worthwhile...

I have still used the co ed spa and most times have had some very pleasant conversations.

Be careful of deck plans. We did the Emerald Princess recently. The deck plans were not updated.

So, when asked before the trip if they had free steam and sauna, they looked at the non-updated plans and said yes...we paid a lot of money and no free steam or sauna.

Same happened to us on Emerald back in March and we were very passed off. They gave is a reduction on the spa fee but was not worth it and nobody used it.
