Ask before you book on the ship!

The courses are listed on the show menu and are prepared and "timed" to be served at different points in the show....which leads to the next "tasting".

The meal started out with a salad, but I don't recall if they offered a vegetarian entree or not!

    We loved it!

Thanks. It isn’t for me. I love my meat!!  One of my travel companions doesn’t eat meat and I thought this would be a good thing for us to go to...you know leave the kids with the dads while the moms have some alone fun time!!😋

Because my DH for no apparent reason just spent a miserable three days in the bathroom, I’m adding Pepto-Bismol tablets to my list😖

Don’t get the tablets. They can turn your mouth black. Google it. I didn’t believe it till I woke up one morning after taking them before bed in Cuba. Thank goodness that a little scrubbing with my toothbrush took care of it. Lol  I had no clue what was going on with me....my girl friends had a good laugh at my expense though🤣

  3. Well I am no longer a cruise virgin!!

Was on the EPIC 27 Jan-3 Feb. With all the research and anticipation before the cruise I definitely was not disappointed.

First day of the cruise was not to much fun for me. On the drive to Port Canaveral I was feeling worse and worse getting some flu cold thing. I was pretty happy that the lines went pretty quickly and we were on the ship in no time at all. Sat in a lounger till the muster drills. Went and did that then we were able to go into our rooms. Went into the room and curled up till the following morning. I was very thankful for my 13 year old daughter. Luggage came she unpacked everything and then went to dinner. Came back later and took care of momma.

We had an inside cabin on Deck 10. The cabin was smaller then I expected. But over all it was just what we needed. There was more then enough storage for the 2 of us. Our cabin steward Raymond was fantastic. 2 times a day he made sure that we had ice available in our room. I really liked that because we used it for our water every day. Three days we had towel animals. My daughter was so happy when she seen those.

First sea day I woke up and was ready to go. I finally got to walk around the ship and check things out. I had to laugh at myself. With all the talks of how big the EPIC is I was surprised that it wasn't as big as I thought. I had no problems finding my way around and enjoyed it all. It was pretty windy the first few days. I didn't mind the wind at all. It was a nice contrast to the heat so it was actually quite enjoyable for me.

Second sea day I went to the CC meet and greet. It was nice visiting with other people. After the that was the slot pull. That is a fun time. My fellow Ontarian Barb was the big winner for the slot pull. It was also great meeting people from our Facebook group as well.

First stop in Jamaica was awesome. My daughter and I went on the river tubing and to bamboo beach tour. Loved every part of the tour. Tubing was fun and adventurous, bamboo beach had fantastic weather, awesome food and of course really tasty drinks. I know a lot of people say that they don't like Jamaica but that was our favorite stop. Our tour guides were fun and always kept stuff happening. Again we met some pretty amazing people on that tour and even exchanged some e-mails.

Grand Cayman was a little confusing at first. With the weather windy and the water choppy we went through 3 excursions before we got one that didn't get cancelled. We ended up swimming with the dolphins. Not my first choice obviously but my daughter was happy about it. Ended up having a great time as well. Did some shopping when it was done and left the island happy cruisers!

Great Stirup Cay was just beautiful. Was easy to find lounge chairs. Went and rented the full face snorkeling masks. Spent most of the day in the water.

During the cruise we went to 3 shows. Burn the floor, Pricilla, and the dinner show. My daughter liked burn the floor the best and I like Pricilla. The dinner show was great as well. I know that some people have said that they were disappointed in the dinner previously but it was pretty good.

One night my daughter and I went and did the family amazing race. That was a great time. But unfortunately for us we came in last. lol Didn't matter the laughs we had made it all worth it. Glow party was a great time. Had our faces painted and danced the night away!!

The food was great. We sure didn't go hungry. Ate breakfast and lunch at the buffet. Had 3 dinners at Manhattan and even got to O'Sheehan's a few times for wings and chicken fajitas.

When my daughter decided to relax for the evenings I headed to the casino. Slot machines ate my money...lol Not to worry the Blackjack tables were very nice to me 3 nights in a row. I enjoyed my adult time in the evenings at the casino.

For my free perk I got the internet. It worked out well for us. I was able to face time to my son back home a few times and kept in contact with the outside world. By the end of the cruise I still had almost and hour left.

Disembarkation went pretty smoothly. We were pink so our time was 10:00 am. We got up, showered ate at the buffet and hung out till we were called. Made our way down found our luggage pretty quick and carried on through customs. Waiting for our shuttle was another story. We had a car rental through Budget. They were horrible. When we finally found other people that were waiting for the shuttle as well we found out that they were waiting for almost and hour. I finally called them and they said that they would send a van out. By that time we have over 30 people waiting for the shuttle. 1 van 30 min later and we were still waiting. Some families just ended up hoping into cabs to get to the rental place. They were very disorganized. Wasn't a good end to an amazing week. But we did finally get there and got our vehicle with enough time not to rush to the airport.

Overall I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed my first cruise. I made sure that we stayed busy enough to enjoy our time but not be over whelmed. I am defiantly going to cruise again. It was a great experience and can't wait to do it again!

  4. OK I think I am ready!! First cruise is in 4 days on the EPIC!!

Just wanted to say thank you to all these past months of reading all these posts I feel more ready than ever!

Now the big decision is going to be what will be my first fancy drink when I arrive!

    I am so excited!!

  5. I've laminated them, punched a hole in it and then attached it to the luggage with a zip tie.

This month is my first cruise and that is what I did as well. I made 2 copies for each piece of luggage so they will easily be seen.

  6. I just had to do this through Norwegian. They have a document on the web site that I had to print off. Just had parents information and who was going to be responsible for the child on the cruise as well as the cruise info that we were going on. We both had to sign it with a copy of both our drivers licences attached. I'm not leaving for 2 weeks so I still might get it notarized as an extra precaution.

  7. I have a hard time haggling. My experience is at resorts not cruise ships. On a trip to Cuba with the girls we walked off the resort to go to a market. I didn't know that you were suppose to haggle and just paid full price for everything. I thought the price was reasonable until I noticed my girlfriends haggling a getting stuff cheaper. Another time in Mexico we took a bus to the market and did some shopping there. My daughter wanted a bracelet and I just told the guy that I can't haggle and just tell me what he wanted for it. Got a great price. Our friends that we were with were in a different store and they bought their daughter the same bracelet and paid twice the amount I did. I just hope that my friend I am going with in January is good at that because I suck at that stuff.
