Hi Ess ... Sailing out of Miami again on Meraviglia to Costa Maya, Belize and Roatan plus Ocean Cay now that it is open.
Lucky you guys: sure you will have an amazing time....we also want to do the Caribbean again. Will need to be at least 14 days though to make it worth the trip from Aus. 😀

Hi Was ... Hope you guys have a great cruise next year, a shame you are not on the Xmas cruise this year.
The bandage you gave me came in handy again while Kerry recovered from her fractured ankle.
Where are you and Kerry off to this time Dave?

Thanks Beamafar ...its 26 days /25nights https://www.msccruises.com/en-gl/Plan-Book/Cruise-Detail.aspx?cruiseid=OR20200418DURVCE May have to pack a jacket or two as I get cold really easy and we will be in Venice for 3 days post cruise.
Since neither hubby or I consume alcohol and Hubby wakes up as soon as there is even a glimmer of light ( tried balcony on Princess and he was awake at 4am every morning so we now only ever book internal cabins), the additional perks in Aurea class are just not worth paying more than double PP for us: . Will def give a report when we get back about the cruise 🙂

Many thanks for the info. I wonder if anyone can advise please. We are cruising from Dubai in February 2020 on the Bellissima. We have a cruise and fly package from Edinburgh. Does anyone know if at some point you can pick your seats on the plane? Also we land in Dubai at 06.30 am, can we board the ship that early?
Kind regards.
We used the MSC transfer to the port when we came in that early in Feb and was on board before 8

We did a cruise with MSC out of Dubai on Feb and the MSC transfers bus was there when we arrived very early in the morning with Emirates . We were at the port before 8 and the boarded us straight away.

Just wanting to confirm that entering Dubai with Diabetic medication, Epipen for shellfish Allergy and Prescription Anti Acid medication (Sucralphate) does not require a dr's letter as long as they are in their original boxes?
Thanks

The tours that they sell at the port are less than half the price they sell inside the ship.We booked ours online after researching for reviews with tripadvisor. No cash advance needed and this way we could chose whit who we will sail.
Thanks Framboesa

This needs to go on your roll call thread rather than here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2559996-uae-cruise-7th-18th-feb-2019/
I started that roll call and have asked there but have had no repose to the fishing question so I thought I would try here encase someone doesnt know how to find the roll calls but may be interested, Globaliser .

Just wandering if there are any keen fisherman (or Ladies) who will be on the Lirica cruise starting on the 7th Feb. Hubby would love to go on a 1/2 day fishing charter out of Muscat but most of the boats has a fixed price for up to 6 pax. Unfortunately that makes the cost for one person going alone to high, so he would love to find other fisherman wanting to share the charter and cost.

Hi...can anyone tell me if there are Tour operators selling tours at the port where the Tender dock in Khasab and is so what is available and how do they compare with the cost of tours onboard
Thanks

Yes they take UAE dirhams ,euros or Omani rials. All the taxi drivers have a map showing main tourist points where they will take you e.g. mosque, palace, souk, beach, opera house etc.
however you can tailor the trip to where you want to go,it's an hourly rate set by Government so if you want 4/5 hours you pay accordingly.
we enjoyed the trip and you spend the amount of time you want at each stop, e.g. We went into opera house and spent 20/25 mins there but you don't have to go in if you don't want to.
Thanks Cruise Man 60 ...good information

We got a taxi at the gates and it was 300 dirhams for a 3 hour tour and we went to the mosque, the sultans palace, the souk, the beach and various other sites. If you want to go somewhere different or for longer then just agree a price with them.
there is a free shuttle bus that drops you in town but we didn't see many public buses although our dinner guests got one back from sultans palace after walking the 2 or 3 mile s there!
Was that AE Dirhams Cruiser Man 60 (just trying to work out the exchange rate for Aussie Dollars ) and was that for a "pre set" route?
Thanks

Thanks Omega1...did you book in Dubai or ahead of time on line?

Hi...wondering if anyone can advise me if its better to book the desert Safari ahead on the net before leaving or wait till you get to Dubai and book it there. We are will be on MSC Lirica 7th of Feb cruise and which has 4 port days all up in Dubai, so was thinking of doing it on our 3rd day.
Also recommendation for which company to use will be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi. We sailed in March 17 and l would answer as follows:
- Thanks CruiseIreWhat are the price of softdrink and coffee's on board..About €2-3 plus 15% gratuity.
- Can you buy digital copies of photos only (ie not getting the printed copy at all) and if so what was the prices....Yes, but l don't know the prices
- With the multiple days in port in Dubai, can you just come and go as you please on those days? Yes, you can.
- Are there any "DONT WEAR" clothing restrictions when you are out and about on excursions. On a guided tour, dress can be less modest unless you are visiting a mosque. Walking about the souks, you should cover shoulders down to the elbows and legs to below the knees. In the large malls, dress can be less modest.
- What is the temps like in the day time..25 - 33 degrees Celsius usually.
Thanks CruiseIreland...Much appreceated

Dont know how I missed this Dave...Thanks for reply. I really dont want any more printed photos so unless I can get some in digital format we wont be getting any this time 🙂

Cruising on the Lirica in Feb to the Arabian Peninsular...was wanting to buy a digital photo package as we had on the Sea Side, but only printed photo packages are showing up to purchase before the cruise. Does anyone know if they have the Digital Photo card for sale onboard?
Thanks
