From Sheffield I recommend M1 - A1 - A19 (J.49 off A1?). A19 is much quieter route than A1 and takes you directly to the Tyne Tunnel. Once through the tunnel you just follow the brown tourist signs for Cruise/Ferry terminal (and Royal Quays shopping centre). The tunnel was £1.70 each way this year (done it twice - one Thomson and one Fred Olsen). Check their website before you travel for any increase.
thank you that's really useful

We were in St Thomas (RCCL GoS, 12/13), docking at Crown Bay. We stayed near Charlotte Amalie and Emerald Bay. Heard that the St Johns ferries are only running from the east end of St Thomas, did not see any running from Charlotte Amalie. Our taxi driver told us she was still without power, so a lot of work remains. Saw a maintenance yard filled with debris, larger one next to it loaded with new utility/phone poles to repair the grid.
thank you, useful to know

I’m doing this itinerary in July magnificent fjords and travelling from Sheffield. I’m driving up to Newcastle the morning of the cruise as I think it should only take a few hours. Looking forward to the beautiful scenery

On the itinerary I'm doing which is the seven isles there isn't a sea day so which day would be most likely for the dress to impress night happen? Thank you

For those that have done the seven isles, I'm torn between the following two excursions in Grenada , the "eko trek to bamboo fall" or "hike to seven sisters"
So if anyone could tell me what they were like I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance

thank you Tizzy-Jo, just seemed odd that the price is identical to the cost of the aerial tram and you would expect it to be more to cover the transport costs, unless they get a discount?

I'm going on the seven isles in January as well, 7th jan, and as you say there are no excursions listed.
I've started having a look on trip advisor to see what is available without going through a Thomson excursion.

Hi,
We're going on the TUI Discovery for a week from the 7th January. The following day is in St Lucia and we are wanting to do the aerial tram. Thomson offer it as an excursion but it does not mention if transfers are included, where as other trips mention the transfer. Does anyone know?
Also if transfers aren't included does anyone know the best way to get there? Taxis? If so any idea of cost and journey time. many thanks in advance.

in Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson)

I've booked parking at the cruise port via TUI and it was £70 for the week
