We have bid in three categories, two are shown as pending the other shown separately allowing us to amend our offer, as we have never done this before I am a bit confused as to why they are different?

I changed my bid a while go to a lower amount, and got an email about that, but. now on the MoveUp when I check it the older higher bid is there and I can't change it or cancel it, although it's still pending.  Looks like I'm locked in but am not going to be too disappointed as it's not a huge difference.  The lockup tells me that possibly they are close to accepting it.  My other bid shows expired.

I'm thinking that now that they are offering guaranty balcony and concierge cabins at lower price than my ocean view, if they don't fill those then they'll happily take more money from me to put me somewhere in that category.

The testing requirement seems to be causing a lot of problems already for people trying to return from Europe. Several threads on the Celebrity board.

Let’s see what happens when the Alaska season gets in full swing with people testing positive in Canada. It will be interesting to see what Windstar does since the government of Canada requires the cruise line to arrange and pay for quarantine for passengers who test positive during the cruise regardless of the cruise line’s policy for assistance. They are likely to have fewer who are willing to stay on board to recover even at $100 per person per day that was offered to people on the Mexico cruise.

Just disembarked Vancouver BC from a Celebrity cruise May 13th.  Celebrity offered antigen tests, free for those who had booked prior to a certain Nov 2021 date, otherwise $30.  BUT they didn't pass out the tests until after we had left the ship with our luggage, so essentially we were not ON the cruise at time of testing, presumably thus bypassing the Canada requirement that the cruise line pay for quarantine if one tested positive during the cruise.  Some passengers brought along tests so they could check themselves on last day of the cruise and if positive their plan was to report to the medical officer to trigger the Canada rule.  Don't know if anyone actually followed through on this plan.

I agree with Twangster.  Thanks a bunch!  Hope you are having a great time.  🙂

So to finish the story, no further showing of our ArriveCAN QR required. We just got off and back on with Seapass alone, not even picture ID.
By the way, the shuttle to Govery & Yates was $13 US $15 CAN round trip. They actually did a roundabout route both ways with tour commentary. Was as good as many “city” tours with shuttles running both ways wuite often.

So, inquiring minds want to know. 🙂  ArriveCAN required at check-in?  How smoothly did embarkation go for you?  I can't wait to get on her in a couple of weeks!

ArriveCAN clearance QR Code was required at checkin or you could not board. Help apparently was available to get it done but can’t confirm that as I had already done it the day before. My plan was to do it on Monday to assure that I was within 72 hours of both boarding Tuesday and Victoria port visit on Thursday. But looks like the latter would not have been a concern. You have to enter a boarding date that is within a given 72 hour window to continue on the app. But then the window for port visit stop is quite a lot longer. Might be different for disembarking in Canada.
We get a chance to get off at Victoria this afternoon. Am betting it’s all been done electronically such that they won’t be checking again when we do. Will let you know.

For those that haven’t been on the Ovation, she’s a marvelous ship, and please come back with any glitches for those of us on her May 5th sailing. She was perfect last Oct., but sitting without passengers for 6 months, she may have a few kinks to work out.

    Bon Voyage…..Debbie

Thanks Debbie. It’s a gorgeous ship.

While I knew it was going to happen, I’m still a little shocked how masks suddenly disappeared as soon as I crossed the border from North to south … so I just going to say this … us Canucks are still (mostly) being cautious, so in Victoria please take your masks with you, you may be asked to wear them in any “indoor” places, shops, restaurants etc.  While the “mandate” may be relaxed, please follow the Canadian custom of being polite and following any signage requesting mask usage.

Absolutely!  My protocol is to wear a mask if anyone around me is wearing a mask, just out of courtesy, even if it is not required.

Probably not a bad idea.  Although, I did enter all the dates including embarkation and Victoria arrival, and it worked.  I have my confirmation QRC code.  Truthfully, the hardest part was trying to figure out the quarantine location.  It only allows for CN provinces/zip codes, so I just listed the ship and entered the zip for Victoria.

The HELP instructions for the version of ArriveCAN I had before the update said that if you are not disembarking in Canada just visiting a Canadian port then for the quarantine location go to "Other" and list your cabin number on the ship.  I haven't gotten to it yet in the new version which hopefully downloaded when I deleted the app from my phone and the reinstalled it.

Don't forget that you will need to update the ArriveCAN app tomorrow when the update is released.  I plan to do that early afternoon and then complete the input. Theoretically your data will be saved when you update the app. But the quarantine part might be eliminated (fingers crossed).

Negative COVID tests and ArriveCan complete.  Sheesh.  Whole process still feels like 2020, but I guess that's the price of fun nowadays.  Can't wait to get on board and to enjoy this gift from Royal Caribbean.  🙂

Got negative Covid test result today.  YAY.  Waiting until tomorrow for ArriveCAN so that it will be within 72 hours of both boarding the ship and visiting Victoria.

Just got an email from RCCL - reminders about vaccination proof, pre-cruise test requirements and health questionnaire ... it mentioned ArriveCAN as follows:

ArriveCAN: All travelers to Canada, or their legal guardians, must Download the ArriveCAN app or complete the mandatory travel information via the ArriveCAN website prior to boarding.

I would suspect that even if you are not planning on getting off in Victoria, it might be wise to have registered online and have access to ArriveCAN, just by the ship being docked in Victoria, you are strictly speaking, "in" Canada.  Are there still onboard computers available in the library?  If so, as long as you have pre-registered with ArriveCAN, I would think you may be able to access your account through those computers.  I would hasten to add, I have not tested this theory, but it would make sense ... although relying on what is effectively a "public" computer may hold it's own issues....

Anybody who knows better please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that ArriveCAN requires that you complete the online registration within 72 hours of boarding a cruise that will stop at a Canadian port AND within 72 hours of when the ship actually stops at that Canadian port (which I think includes visiting a Canadian port not just disembarkation at a Canadian port).

Because our trip is so short, I think one could actually satisfy both requirements by completing the ArriveCAN registration just once, on Monday afternoon (recommend after 2pm in case we really are arriving at 1:30 as indicated by the Victoria port authority).  That's within 72 hours before we arrive at Victoria (even if just within 72 hours) and that's also within 72 hours (actually 24) of boarding the ship. For those of us who might be still at home on Monday afternoon, makes it easy.  I've downloaded the ArriveCAN app to my phone and entered and saved my passport and vaccination information.  Now just waiting for Monday to do the rest.

So I'm registered for this cruise, but didn't sign up my room mate, thinking I could do that if I get confirmed. Fingers crossed-good luck to all hoping for an invite.

I hadn't found this thread before so started a roll call.  Thanks to westcoasttech  for the link to this thread !!!

I got my invite early April and immediately registered.  Not sure how I got picked but did a b2b on Allure in January and am D+ so maybe that helped.  April 13th my confirmation "invoice" came through.  All signed up now and checked in, was assigned a Deck 12 balcony.

Zu~ where are you on Whidbey?  Looking forward to meeting you on board, or earlier for coffee if you like.  Perhaps we can coordinate getting there and back.  I'm on the South end.  My email is whidbeyk8 at gmail dot com
