It may depend to some extent on where you want to sit. It's usually fairly easy to get a lounger on Promenade Deck.

I can't sit in a lounge anymore. But when we sit by the pool in regular chairs, I have seen a lot of empty loungers.

So you should not have any problems finding a lounger.

Thanks so much for responding. We have been considering renting a retreat cabana so we can be assured of chairs without ending up in an undesirable corner of the ship 9like we were repeatedly on Norwegian where people seemed to put towels out and leave them on the lounger the entire cruise!)

I am going on the December 6, 2017 sailing on the 11 day Panama Canal cruise. I haven't traveled HAL for a while, and I'm wondering how hard it is to get a deck chair [On my last Norwegian cruise it was almost impossible!]
