  1. Has anyone booked/used Triton Marine Tours in Paleokastritsa??  We are thinking of using their boat tour of the caves and beaches and by not using the cruise company I am a bit nervous.

Any help and information would be greatly appreciated!

  2. We are thinking the same thing.  I found a company in Palaiokastritsa that will do a 1.5 hour guided boat tour of the beaches and caves.  However, we don't know how to get there!  Is it easy to acquire a taxi and the pier?  Or do we have to arrange it ahead of time?

  3. We will be traveling to Greece on the NCL Gem in August.  I have read a lot about swimming the caves in Corfu.  Does anyone have any insight if we have enough time in port to do this???  I believe we are in port from 10am to 4pm!

Also...  If you have other suggestions for Corfu we are completely open to them!!

    Thanks for all your suggestions!

  4. Hello Everyone!

We are booked on the Getaway in Mid-April and being a first time NCL cruiser I have a couple questions I am hoping you all could help me with!

We are trying to book our dinner times, but LOVE to see the nightly shows. Do you know what time the nightly stage shows are?  We would love to coordinate dinner times so we do not miss these.

I have heard that NCL is no longer doing formal "Formal" nights!  Would anyone know which night of the 7 day cruise the Captains dinner is scheduled for?

Embarkation - NCL just told me that they are not doing set boarding times for this sailing.  I know NYC can get a bit hectic - does anyone know what the earliest time we would start boarding is and/or what time we should arrive?  We would love to get on as soon as possible in order to start enjoying our vacation!!

Thank you all in advance for your help!

We did this a bazillion years ago when we ported at PC on the NCL Majesty (now in ship heaven or South America or wherever good ships go when they die).

We rented a car from one of the many local agencies. They picked up at the port (remember it's an embarkation port for many) and drove to KSC ourselves. Filled up the car, dropped it off, and they shuttled us back to the ship. This was before the days of Uber. I just checked the Uber site and each way is going to run you about $40. I'll bet you could rent a car and have the gas for much less than $80 AND have the freedom of stopping elsewhere if you wanted to!

An unsolicited piece of advice on KSC: get there as early as possible. If you're able to be there when it opens, go directly to the space shuttle Atlantis exhibit. It gets quite busy as the day goes on. Everything else is quite easy to schedule, though the bus tours do take some time. We usually bring a protein bar with us so we can "power through" lunch time. 🙂

Now we own a timeshare that we LOVE in Cocoa Beach and so enjoy watching all the ships go in and out. I used to think it was a lame port of call, but I'd be just fine with it now...it beats so many in the Caribbean!

Thank you so much for all this valuable information.  We are a party of 6 so I am going to check into renting some minivans.  If not knowing an estimated Uber price helps as we can compare and think of ease for the whole group to stay together.  I also like the idea of not doing a bus tour, if we are on our own we may be able to be a little quicker than the tour groups and have some added time before the cruise ship crowd!

    Thank you again!

  6. Hi Everyone!

We are traveling to Nassau in April and were looking for a relaxing day with some snorkeling, swimming, and sun.  I have looked into Pearl Island and Rose Island, but our group of 6 cannot decide which one!  Does anyone have any recommendations or advice?  Also, has anyone booked with: http://www.pearlislandbahamas.com/home and/or https://www.sandytoesbahamas.com.  I am always concerned when you do non-cruise excursion of safety and not making it back to the ship in time!!

    Thanks for all your help!

  7. I am just curious if anyone has any insight on how to use our Verizon cell phones without using our data? We do not have a need to check email or use internet. We just want to use our phones for alarm clock, pictures, etc. Is there a proven way to do this without using our data?? Thanks!!!

  8. My boyfriend and I have never been to St. Kitts before and are thinking of renting a "street ready ATV." I was wondering how easily it is to get around the island, locating must-see sites, beaches, and more.

    Any feedback will be wonderful.

    Thank you!

  9. I am traveling on the Fascination this spring - would love to see some pictures or videos of the dry dock. Is there a link to the cruise directors feed??

    Thanks!

Yes. I saw a video of the cruise director showing the progress on the improvements they are making.
  10. I am traveling to St. Lucia in April and was wondering if anyone could recommend the best beach and snorkeling spot. We are looking for someplace to sit on the beach, do some decent snorkeling and enjoy the island.

If you could please let me know that would be very helpful.

    Thanks!

  11. Hi Everyone,

I am just reading about Paynes Bay and that it is a great spot to see the sea turtles. However, I was wondering if anyone knew how good the snorkeling was at this spot as well.

    Thanks!

  12. I would recommend the ATV in either St.Kitts or St.Lucia, as those are going to be the most lush islands of all of the ones you're visiting. St.Thomas and St.Maarten have mountains and terrain, but both are much better for water activities and shopping. Barbados is flat, so make that a beach destination. As for deep sea fishing, my vote would go to St.Maarten or St.Thomas, I know both ports usually offer some sort of deep sea fishing excursion. Would you be booking through a private company or would you be booking an excursion directly from Carnival?

Thank you so much for this great information. This is just what I was looking for. We are hoping to use private tours as we have found those can be a little less crowded, but depending on the tour we are open minded.

If you have any suggestions of tour operators that would be great.

  13. Hi There!

We are going to St. Lucia in April and was looking into the "Splash Island Water Park." We have been to Paradise Beach in Cozumel and was looking for a place similar. Water toys/sports, beautiful beach to relax, drinks in hand, etc.

What are you thoughts and reviews of this beach club. Is it worth the money?

    Thanks!

  14. We are thinking about booking a cruise on the Carnival Fascination in April. I was wondering if anyone had any news or updates on what will be added during the January Dry Dock? I have been google searching it, but it seems things are pretty tight lipped!

Is it a possibility to see Guys Burger Joint? Red Frog/Blue Iguana?

    Thanks!

  15. We are going to Barbados for the first time early April 2018. I am looking at all the different excursions/day trips and was wondering what is a "must see/do" for first timers. We will be there for the day. We do not like to sit still for long so I am hoping for advice on adventure/swimming things to do!! Please let me know your thoughts.
