Sat in airport still waiting, I just want to surprise the kids with it!:loudcry:
-
We board the breakaway on Thursday and have heard nothing yet, given up all hope of our upgrade to a haven room.
-
We are also on the same cruise but get onboard on the 9th :D will also be looking at getting some deposits:D
-
Your OBC will pay towards your deposits, so $1000 in deposits will give you $500 OBC and your deposits will only cost $500. (I think):D

Absolutly loved your trip report, we are boarding the Breakaway next Thursday for our turn, can see us being glued to the waterfront most nights of the trip!:D

Just received email we have been upgraded from a mini suite to a haven two bedroom on the Breakaway Baltic leaving Aug 18th. Three of us my bid was $1250 pp in the poor range, I had checked and upgrade on my own would have been another 6 or 7 k.
I'm stunned for sure
Congrats :D we're still waiting to hear about our Breakaway on the 9th August(yn)(yn)

With all this bidding malarkey I feel NCL play a big part in it even though I have only recently learned that it is an outside company that deal with the upgrade bidding process. Why offer out so much if it's not available? yes to make money but it wont actually make them that much if they are actually sold out and no one cancels? Yes it may make people want to upgrade, but most are happy with what they book ( that's why they book it most of the time) My experience so far with NCL is I was offered to bid on 4 Haven caterogies and a mini suite ( we are in a balcony) sorry I don't know all the different codes used for rooms as I use names for rooms and this is only our 3rd cruise;p but so far my thinking is NCL show rooms as sold out as a con to make you want to try and bid when in actual fact they are not! On our past 2 cruises the Haven was never sold out ( our daughter made good friends there) even though it was school hols for us. Whatever it is I am playing this game and hoping for some bit of luck on our cruise in August as we really need some good luck at the mo!:D

Great review, thanks for writing, it has given us a bit more insite into what to expect when we do the same cruise in August. (y)

I got my upgrade email 60 days before cruise, keeping our fingers crossed for a 2 bed Haven to surprise the kids:D

Yes, I'm in a mini with large balcony on deck 8.
I am a mother and a grandmother and just appalled at how some of these kiddos are little hooligans.
If I paid that much money for a Haven, unfortunately my mouth would have no filter if area had bratty spoiled kids running around.
If I ever found my kids to be acting up on holiday god help them! :') So far I seem to have brought them up better and no matter where we we're staying I would make it quite clear any bothersome little cherubs;) need dealing with ;p

You are correct about only the first 2 in cabin pay the upgrade. You should do it if you can afford. It is AMAZING!!!! But know that you may never be able to go back - we upgraded once and have been doing Haven ever since at full price because we don't want to take a chance of NOT getting a Haven.
:'):') I believe it is very likely we would never want to go in anything but Haven if we were lucky enough for our bid to be accepted!

Hi all
New to this upgrade thing and got my email offering us lots of tempting cabins:p:p.
We are booked in a balcony and the price for an upgrade to a Haven 2 bed family says $895pp, am I correct in thinking that we would only pay for the 2 adults not the 2 kids? And that our free UBP and service charges would carry over and would not have to pay extra? We are on the breakaway in Aug and have always fancied trying Haven but the price puts us off as we would need the 2bed with our kids. :'):')

Thank you to all those who have given some great tips about St Petersburg. Have done an abundance of research already and will try and get my family to agree on a suitable tour! To those whose opinions are that my children are uneducated and are glued to electronic devices, you can keep those views to yourself! They are in no way helpful to anyone but you and of what you deem others to be like!

So our Baltic cruise in August we are on an overnight stop in St Petersberg, as most do, but looking at costs and what we may want to take the kids to see is it really worth it? We cruise for the ship experience as well as the ports and would rather relax on the boat then spend time in queues and museums ( which are not our thing) The country is also looking far less appealing with political issues etc ( lets not get into that, I'm British!) All I want to know is are we going to be loners on the boat for 2 days if we don't get off??
-
We are also looking at doing a similar 1 day tour in SPB, sort of a whistle stop tour as we don't want to drag the kids around all the museums and palaces for 2 days. There is soo much to consider its baffling!!

Just checked our holiday summary on NCL for our 9th August cruise and the itinerary overview still says Stockholm and the archipelago, but on the daily tabs it says the last 2 days are sea days now. Its probably just whilst everything is being changed, but will not be happy if it ends up as 2 sea days and would expect some reimbursement.

Hi all,
We are booked on the Breakaway next August for a trip round the Baltic sea:D we are trying to figure out St petersburg with our picky kids, who will be 16 and 9. We really want to look around the city and see the sites especially Peterhof fountains and gardens. A cruise around the canals would go down well with all of us, but as we are not culture vultures and the idea of spending hundrends of pounds to look around churches and museums makes us shivver, we still would like to experience the city but really didn;t know how complicated it would be to see St Peterburg when we booked the cruise:(
Any advice on best options would be greatly appreciated, have looked at all the top tour companies, but their costs and tours are not quite what we want and we are only really looking at doing 1 day in the city and the idea of having to wake at 'daft o'clock' to get breakfast and go through customs to meet a 7.30 tour is not what we call enjoying our holiday:o:o Has anyone done this city like this?
Thanks in advance everyone for any help

Hi all, I have 2 NCL cruise next deposits but have found a bargain deal through my banks travel service which saves us £1300 compared to booking direct!!:D Just wondering if we can apply the deposit after we have booked as the bank is saying they have to wait till Tuesday to speak to someone (bank hol in UK) to confirm we can apply it to booking. We are just being impatient really but thought can we just take it off the balance once booked? or does anyone have dealing with using these deposits not direct through NCL??
Thanks in advance guys
What was your upgrade offer and what did you bid

I take it if I see expired that means rejected if I've not heard anything?
