We are having a family reunion cruise next June 14 on MarinerOS. The prices are ridiculously high and may prevent some from coming along. DH and I are paying 1800 for a balcony room; this is a 3 Day Cruise!! I could do a 4 day Disney for the same price. We also have a 5 day Celebrity balcony with tips, drinks, and $300 OBC for only $1335 total.

 

Please dont suggest changing the cruise since plans, vacations, etc. are already set for most. I just want your ideas as to why this much money for a 3 day-er?

That’s not great to hear about MarinerOS, but great to hear that X is so cheap! Do you mind sharing details?

The Escape from NYC is a great ship to take to Bermuda.

 

We did NOT like the RCCL Anthem out of NJ.

This year is Escape from NYC and Dawn from Boston and NCL once in awhile has another ship there here and there.

 

Next year Gem out of Boston.

As it is in the early stages of planning, we're not entirely sure. Heck, we didn't even desire to go to Bermuda until we were randomly searching threads here!

However, we do plan to go either in late May, late Sept, or early Oct to avoid the crowds and heat. We don't mind on embarkation location. Room type- balcony.

You didn't say where you live, but we love the Norwegian Dawn out of Boston. The ship is the perfect size, and it docks in Bermuda for 2 1/2 days so you get to come and go as you please. It's a great cruise with a great crew.

Whoops! We live on the west coast, but have family living near NYC. We do want to experience a smaller ship since we've always cruised with larger ships. What do you love about Norwegian Dawn?

a) RCL Anthem if you want a great ship

b) Holland America if you want nearly 3 days in Bermuda

 

We have been disappointed with NCL recently and will avoid them for now.

Can you explain why you were disappointed? We were really hoping to try them out. We are actually going on Anthem in a week or so and first time on RCL!

I've read every post on drink packages but haven't seen this mentioned. DH and I will be sailing on the Solstice (Honeymoon) next week Sept 8. We have the classic drink package. I'm considering upgrading to premium. My question is this...when does the drink package start. I've only sailed Carnival in the past' date=' and at the time, the drink packages (alcohol) didn't start until the second day of the sailing. I haven't been able to find anything on the Celebrity website or in the FAQ's that mentions when the drink packages begin. Congrats!! We sailed Equinox for our honeymoon and loved it and we hope you guys will too! Perfect destination as well! As others mentioned above, your package begins as soon as you board! Happy days!
