Hi,
My whole family (all 22 of us) is taking our parents on an Alaska cruise next July for their 60th anniversary. Is there a subtle way that I can ask RCL to do something special for them on this huge milestone celebration? I've never done this before and don't know 1) if it's possible to request such thing, and 2) how to ask RCL without sounding demanding or entitled. 🙂 Any tips would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

Thank you all so much for the clarifications. I'm still considered myself a newbie at cruising so laying out the details helped me tremendously. I am planning to book a refundable fare, so I should be good in cancelling reservation without worry about the $100 pp penalty, correct?

We'll be on Adventure of the Seas next month to the Caribbean, and our extended family are planning an Alaska cruise (on Ovation of the Seas) in July 2019 for our parents' 60th anniversary. With the current BOGO 60% off on 2nd passenger, we're thinking of booking cabins now to get the sale. Here are my questions:
1. If we were to book the rooms now via an agency (not through RCL), what if in November we find a better deal while onboard.....can we transfer the reservation from the agency to RCL? What are my options in getting the best deal for our family of 5?
2. Is $1450 (tax included) a good price for a balcony w/ obstructed view cabin? (7 days Alaska)
Thank you.

Need help from all cruisers who are familiar with Labadee. One of our ports of call in November is Labadee and this will be our first time stopping by this private island. My question is...which beach should we go to for easiest access to the beach? Our teenage son is physically disabled (he can only walk with a walker) and we'd like to just relax and swim where the water is calmer and a short walk from the chair to the water. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I just ordered Voom Surf and Stream package for 3 devices (3 teenagers - it will be a surprise gift) for $27/day. Funny when I saw it this morning it was only $25/day, I guess RC raised the price as folks are getting the sale. Great deal still though (50% off).

Hi there, beside Promenade and Windjammer what other options out there available for lunch on the Adventure OTS on embarkation day? I don't believe there's something similar to Central Park cafe on the Adventure. Thank you.

Thank you Bob! You're always so helpful.

We always book future cruises while on board .We transfer the booking to our TA afterward.
May I ask how you transfer the booking to the TA after booking onboard? Our cruise is in November and although I have never booked while onboard I would like to try it after hearing of the OBC. Thank you.

My final payment is coming up (Aug 16th). When I logged into my Royal Caribbean account the "Pay Remaining Balance" link is disabled. I booked the reservation through travel agency, does that mean I have to contact them to make the final payment? TIA.

Thank you so much for the link! That is extremely helpful when making reservation for our next cruise.

We're a family of 5 and my son is physically disabled. I was wondering if there's such thing as an oceanview balcony accessible room connecting to a regular room? If there are such rooms existed then I'll make sure to make reservations way ahead of our cruise. Thank you in advance.

Thank you all so much for your replies. I will go ahead and purchase the soda package for the kids now, if the price goes down then I'll cancel but at least for now I know it's $8.50/day. :)
-
The title sort of said it all. We have a couple of teenagers and would like to know if the soda packages typically go on sale a few times a year? Thank you.
-
How about on the Adventures?
-
Just FYI. I just made reservation for Refreshment package for $18.50/pp per day, that's 30% off regular price. I checked the soda package and that isn't on sale, but I believe the Refreshment and Deluxe packages are.

My daughter wants to swim with the dolphins at one of the ports we'll be visiting on our cruise in November, I was looking through the list of excursions available in St. Maarteen and most (if not all) of those sites are saying they're closed and to check back in early 2018. I'm guessing this is due to the hurricane. Has anyone done this type of excursion recently? I'd like to know in case this is still true then I'd have to plan the dolphin excursion at another port (possibly St. Kitts). Thank you.

From reading all of your posts I guess I will pass up on this offer and research on others that makes more sense. I'm 45, husband 47 + 3 kids (11, 14, 15), we don't expect any major health issues but ya never know...anything can happen at any moment and I want to be sure we're well covered.

Here's in a nutshell of what was offered for $85 (1 adult + 2 kids):
Trip Cancellation Up to 100% of Trip Cost (max coverage: $100K)
Trip Interruption Up to 150% of Trip Cost (max cov: $150K)
Missed Connection $800
Travel Delay $800
Emergency Medical and Dental $25,000
Emergency Medical Transportation $500,000
Baggage Loss/Damage $1,000
Baggage Delay $300
Should I look elsewhere?

I never purchased travel insurance before and today I asked my travel agent to send me a quote to see if I should consider purchasing one this time around. The cruise is for 8 nights to the Caribbean on Adventures of the Seas this November 2018. The quote I got was $85 for myself and my 2 kids (11, 14), and it's with Allianz. Does that sound reasonable? The price seems low to me but I'm not familiar with travel insurance so I can't tell if it's a good deal or not. Should I get it?
-
Oh maybe that's why. Ours is in November so we're quite a way out. Thank you all for your replies and helping out this newbie. :)

Hi. I tried to go on the Cruise Planner and see the price for Refreshment package, but no where on the page does it show the price. Can you tell me where to go and how do I know when there's a sale? Thank you.
-
I apologize for this may be a stupid question for the experienced cruiser, but I went to the Cruise Planner and there's no place there that mentioned the price for each package. Can you please tell this newbie where I can find this information? Thank you in advance.
Symphony of the Seas - balcony aft cabins?
in Ask a Cruise Question

We're looking to book a cruise on Symphony of the Seas and was wondering if the ship has balcony rooms in the back of the ship (similar to Celebrity's Sunset Veranda category)? Thank you for any information you can provide.
